"Ror, you know going out in this storm is a dumb idea!" the white tiger shouted over the crashing rain.
"How else are we going to survive? Plus, I hear something. Whatever it is, I need to help it!" the older lion cub shouted back, padding out into the rain, listening intently. Reddy rolled his eyes, and sighed. "Can't you learn to help yourself for once?" he muttered.
Ror guffawed, and walked deeper into the flooding woods, He could hear the faint whining of a cub, or kitten of some sort. He reached a small tree, and nestled inside its roots was a small cheetah, crying its head off.
"You poor little thing.." he breathed, snuggling the cub and placing it on his back. When he was about to leave, the cub cried louder, seeming desperate. He heard quieter whining in return, making him turn back around. He saw two very small cubs there as well, a leopard and a tiny green-and-blue cheetah. He smiled, and picked them up as well.
As soon as he set foot in the cave, he found a nice warm place for the cubs to stay. Reddy came bounding up. "You found more cubs?" he asked, completely dumbfounded on how many he found. "They're so young..I wonder what happened to their parents." he added. Ror nodded, and pulled the tiger cub aside. "You are now the big brother for these cubs. Whatever happens, we're now both responsible for their safety." he told him, and Reddy slowly nodded.
*******
"-and that's the story of how we found you!" Ror finished up, as the three cubs stared in awe. "Later, we decided to name you Spots, Freckles, and Glamour." Reddy added, looking up at Freckles, who was sitting on his head.
"You went through a storm to find us?" the little leopard squeaked, his eyes wide. "That's so cool!"
Ror chuckled. "Yes, I guess it was. Anyway, it's time for bed now." he told them, and got whines in return. He rolled his eyes. "Okay, one more. I should tell you about the time Reddy dared me to eat a scorpion..."
