CHAPTER 2:OOO'S NEWEST HERO

(Jake's pov)

When me and Finn arrived at our tree house, we took power naps,showered and got dressed for the party.For some reason Finn is looking so fancy and he has never dressed this fancy for any of PB's parties.He is wearing
a blue tuxedo,black fancy shoes,a black bow tie and he's not even wearing his hat.He has a new hairstyle ,to be honest he looks like a Prince."Wow man why are you looking so fancy?"I ask Finn."Just wanted to look different for once,does it look bad?"he asks."Nope and I know you're dressed like that to try to impress PB,am I wrong?"I ask him with a smile on my face."What!No dude I just.....Ok ..(sigh)I'm afraid of loosing PB to  Marshall so I want to try and impress her because Marshall might like her too,"he says with his face as red as a tomato."Thanks for being honest bro , I'll help you win her hurt because homies help homies."I say with a supporting look on my face."So you know what time it is!?I ask."It's LADY TIME,"we say together while fist pumping each other.

Soon we were done and we made our way to the Candy Kingdom.On our way there:"Finn you ok dude?"I ask concerned."Yeah man, just worried about PB."he says with a sad expression on his face."Ok dude it's time for you to tell me what happened while I was unconscious."
"Well...Marshall saved you and  that you know.He told me three things that he did heroically;he saved you,defeated the Litch and sent him into the Nightosphere and he saved PB from the Ice king.After that PB was screaming because a Dragon held her and I was about to save her when Marshall came out of no where and stabbed it from the head to the stomach.Then PB ......k..kissed Marshall on the cheek.Then she said she wants to throw him a party for saving Ooo AND HER for the first time.Yeah that's pretty much what happened."(sigh)he says sadly.
"Wow dude are you gonna be ok?"I ask worriedly."Yeah I'll be fine,I don't want you to worry about me.You should go and have fun with Lady (rainicorn)after all it is a party."he says with a smile."Ok I  hear you man ,we're here.Ok dude I'm gonna leave you now go get your lady !"I say with a thumbs up.He smiles at me and I enter the castle.

(Finn's pov)

'Ok Finn you like her and Marshall likes her.All you got to do is be yourself stay calm and don't do anything stupid.Here goes nothing.'I thought to myself as I open the door and enter the castle.This party is crazy,all the Candy people are insane.I look around and I spot PB in the middle of the dance floor.She ......looks ....a~ma~zing.I feel my face turn red as she walks up to me that's right me!She literally past Marshall and now she's right in front of me."HEY PB !!!!!"I blabbed out like an idiot."Hey Finn (she slowly looked at me from head to toe)You look different, "she says.
"In a bad way or good way because you're creeping me out."
"In a handsome way dummy."she says with a warm smile.
"Tha...thanks (knowing that I'm red)you look ......."I froze as no words would come out.
"Thank you Finn,I just wanted to ask you something."
"I'm all ears."
"Where were YOU when Turtle princess was in danger?"
"Um ..when exactly was she in danger?"
"A few minutes after I left this afternoon."
"Oh.I was still with Marshall."
"No it can't be that time, I saw him turn into a bat and save Turtle princess from a burning building."
"What,really!?"he didn't even tell me.
"Yeah and I got good news and bad news."
"(Sigh)Can you start with the bad news?"
"Sure,Marshall beat your high-ranking of heroic deeds of a day and the citizens of the Candy Kingdom and other people saved by him gave me no choice but to nominate him as ..........as........Ooo's newest greatest hero leaving you second greatest.I'm terribly sorry!!"
I felt my eyes were starting to tear and sadness over whelmed me.I ran as fast as I could with no reason ,I just felt like I had to run."Fiiiinnnn!!!!!Don't go !!!"PB shouts while chasing after me. I ended up in the Candy Kingdom's garden. PB walked up to me.
"Finn I know you're sad, but you'll always be my number one hero.Just keep that in mind ok."she says.
"Huh ......I will it's just that being Ooo's greatest hero was the thing that kept me up in adventuring, but now I feel like I don't even know how to use a sword anymore."-Me
"Oh Finn remember the time Ice king kidnapped me you didn't need a weapon to save me,which proves that you don't need to be the greatest to be a hero."-PB
Suddenly Marshall appears from no where and hugs PB from her back.
"Hey,if you'll excuse me I need my girl to come and dance with me now...so."Marshall says to me as my mouth drops open.
"Your girl what do you mean your girl!?"I ask in shock.
"Didn't she tell you?PB is my girlfriend bra."Marshall says with confidence as I feel myself tearing up again.
"PB ....is.....is...this..true!??"I ask her hoping for a no answer.
"(sigh).......Yes Finn me and Marshall are....... dating."she says with a worried look on her face.
"FIRST YOU TAKE AWAY MY TITLE AS OOO'S GREATEST HERO AND NOW YOU TAKE AWAY MY ONE TRUE LOVE!!!!!!????WHAT'S NEXT ???YOU GONNA TAKE MY BEST FRIEND TOO!!!!!!!I shout at Marshall filled with anger.
"Finn don't be like that.You should be happy that Marshall isn't evil anymore.He saved me like three times today."-PB
"Oh yeah!Well I saved you more than a thousand times.PB Marshall seriously ,you can do better than him. I.........I'm......"-Me
"You're what Finn!?"she says with frustration.
"I'm ...in.......lo...love with you okay!?And you never loved me back"I say feeling tears running down my cheeks.
"Finn I......never realised...I...thought You felt nothing for me because I ....was in love with you too,but I'm with Marshall now and I don't feel that way about you anymore.I'm sorry."she says sadly with tears while Marshall pulls her into a warm hug to comfort her.
"I think you should leave before you make her even more sad.Just accept that you had your chance and you blew it.I guess now I'm a better hero than you'll ever be"-Marshall says with a smirk.
"Fine I'm leaving!!"I shout with tears in my eyes.I run to the castle and look for Jake.I gasp in shock as I see Jake kissing Lady on the lips.I'm so proud of him,at least things are going great for him,but for me....well ,there's a guy who's stealing my life.I don't want to bother Jake ,but I need him to take me home.I walk towards him and shake his shoulder.He pushes himself away from Lady and starts talking to me.
"Finn you look like a zombie.Have you been crying?"Jake says looking worried.
"Um....I was.Can you just take me home dude? I don't feel like partying right now."I say feeling my eyes tearing up again.
"Hop on my back,Lady I'm taking Finn home okay!he says while I climb on his back.He stretches into a giant dog and walks home.
"Finn buddy do you wanna talk about it?"he asks me with a concerned look on his face.
"Not now maybe when you come back from the party."I say trying to hold back my tears.
"I can see you're not okay dude.I'm gonna stay with you until you feel better so I'm not going back."
We arrive at the tree house and Jake shrinks back to normal.
"Jake you don't have to stay I'm gonna be fine.I don't want to be the cause of you missing out on the party."
"Finn it's just one party and there's nothing you can do to change my mind. "
"Hmmmm I'm sure Lady is waiting for you;boy she would be so upset that you never came back,but oh well....I guess your best friend is more important than your girlfriend."I say with a teasing smile knowing that he would never be able to resist going back after what I just said.
"Curse your way of using love,I'm going back for Lady,bu...but are you sure you're gonna be okay?-Jake
"I'll be fine dude.I just need some time alone."I say thinking about PB.
"Okay ,I'll see you later than,"he says while leaving.

I decide to take a shower and put on my pj's.Then I climbed to the top of the tree house and lyied down to look at the stars.Marshall was right about one thing though ,I had my chance to ask PB out and I blew it.I don't even feel like adventuring anymore.
