Cat's POV:
It's been about four years since the Dead Rats Club was created and about a year and a half since the big road trip plan was thought up. It took us a while to save up the money for the bus that we turned into a road trip van, plane tickets for everyone to be in the same place at the same time and whatever else expenses we had to pay for.
The first to meet were technically Danika and I since we live only 30 minutes away from each other. We spent time laughing about memes, talking about Riley (Danika's boyfriend of 3 years), playing the ukulele together and planning the big road trip for the DRC. We spent lots of time together but less so as both of us had to start learning how to become self sufficient adults.
The second to meet were Danika and Krissy. Krissy flew down here to see Danika and stay with her for a summer. Just so happens, I was in Japan at the time with my Kuya Christian studying the art in Tokyo. I have no doubt Krissy and Danika "experimented" a few times while she was visiting. Though Danika was straight and had a boyfriend, Krissy and her were so close I don't see how it couldn't have happened. It was never confirmed but how can someone look at someone the way Krissy looked at Dani and not love them? If it hasn't happened yet, it'll happen soon.
The third to meet was Jade and I. I ended up getting good grades at the end of freshman year and my grades were good enough to convince my parents to visit Jade in Texas. I remember meeting her so vividly. I'd gotten off my flight and started walking toward the front of the airport. I was wearing my light washed blue Levi's with rips at the knees and a grey cropped sweatshirt that had sleeves long enough for me to have sweater paws. I had my black kanken on my back and platform low cut black converse on my feet. I was going down the airport elevator and that's when I saw her. That little brown haired bundle of sunshine. She was wearing a black top and blue jeans I'd only seen her wear before in pictures. Her hair was curled and the little shiny adorable spirals bounced as she walked. I was so overwhelmed with all these emotions that came with not getting to physically be with the person I was closest to. Not until now. She turned around and noticed me around the same time I started sprinting toward her ready for her hug. She did the same. Her white converse squeaked on the tile floor of the airport as she ran toward me. I felt tears forming in my eyes and I couldn't hold it back any longer. I jumped into Maddie Jade Parsons arms for the first time and it was like a world of black and white suddenly had some color in it. The first time I got to feel the warmth of Jadie's touch I was beyond content. I stayed with Jade for a while and it was the best weeks of my life but eventually, I had to return to California.
Next to meet was the entire group as a whole, and boy did that take work. Find out on next episode of the DRC.
