For most of my life I felt like I had been swimming in an entire ocean of despair and darkness. All around me was just dark open waters, cloudy with horrible memories. I felt so trapped, enclosed in such memories of depressing events that had happened in my life. Suddenly one day while laying at the bottom of my personal ocean of darkness, a glimmer of light shines through. The surface of the water glistens with hope. I swim to the top and reach my hand out, crisp air hitting it as I do. I reach and reach but no one grabs me. When suddenly I had no hope left, not a speck of will to live I began pulling my hand back into the water when a warmth wraps around my fingers. A hand. It grasps me firmly, yet gently at the same time and begins pulling me up. Beautiful orange and red clouds paint the sky as the sun goes into its nightly hiding. Soft winds hit my face as I emerge. All of the water drips off of me. His warm grasp makes me blush as he pulls me to shore. Brown eyes like milk chocolate, a nose speckled with freckles ever so slightly. Red cheeks that he claimed were "sunburned". A small complexion that was tiny, but perfectly proportioned. His arms wrapped around me, embraced me. Pulled me into a world where no past defined no man. No appearance defined no being. Suddenly everything that had filled me with pain no longer mattered. That sea behind me had begun to dry up, the longer he held me. Soon enough only a droplet of water lay in a desert with new sprouting roses. He made me feel like nothing mattered. A tearful moment shared as I reveal to him what I had been through, and done. I felt his tears upon my shoulder, and suddenly it became clear to me that he was the true one. A moment as grand as this will belong in the safe I call my heart forever. I will hold him and cherish him for as long as I may. He is my pride, my joy, my reason to wake up in the morning. He is my world. And I know
