As Castiel walked down the dark streets of Lawrence, he couldn't help but think that the King of Hell was a little too dramatic for his own good.

Of course he understood why he associated this town in Kansas with the cruelest, most evil place in the world, but like he thought before: The King of Hell has always been a drama Queen. Or should he say King? Drama King. It was nice for Castiel to realise that after all these years he still had his terrible sense of humour.

The Underground tunnels in Lawrence were something mildly popular, they were knows for this dangerous, creepy place where according to rumors animals in jars were kept. The tunnels were dangerous. They weren't fancy in any way with only about three feet to stand and the mold, grime and mud.
A perfect place to put the door to hell. The new king had it moved when he rose to the throne, the old place wasn't secure anymore, he claimed. But Castiel knew better.

He liked to think that he knew the king, his flaws, his traits, his personality. How couldn't he? They've fought by each other's sides often enough to know each others fighting techniques, movements and the way either of them swung a blade.
When the war was over, they sat down together and one other to discuss what would happen with the world.

Who would take care of the souls in Heaven and Hell and who would rest with the humans on Earth? And then they came to the agreement that Castiel would rule Heaven and his friend would take over Hell. And as Castiel had risen that night from the table to travel back up to claim God's side, the other one rose as well and they parted with a kiss, knowing they wouldn't see each other for a while.

And they didn't. It had been seven years.

But the new King of Hell didn't place the new entrance to his kingdom in Lawrence, Kansas for not just the reason that it wasn't safe in it's old location anymore, he could've placed it anywhere in the entire world, but he had a story in Lawrence. Something deep, meaningful and personal. Something important that couldn't ever be taken away from him. So he placed the entrance here, in the Underground Tunnels, the ones no one dared to enter anyway. The perfect place to keep souls.

Castiel spanned his wings, they had been healing. It's been taking some time and has been painful, but Castiel needed to be able to fly again, and he finally was. It was only short distances for now, but it was better that before. He still had 1978 Lincoln Continental Mark V although he rarely used it nowadays.

The feeling of the cold wind breezing through the black feathers rewarded Castiel with a relaxing sensation, something very human, but human was good.

Many angels first believed that because Castiel seemed to have a little too much heart and because he felt many of the emotions humans felt he wouldn't be fit for Ruling, but that soon was proven to be wrong. Due to Castiel's kind heart and genuine soul, the humans haven't suffered from the angels' powers, Castiel was in control, but this time he wasn't working against the rest of the angels, he was working with them (a mistake he had made a few years earlier).

With his wings still outstretched he teleported into the tunnels. It was dark, pitch-black even but thankful for his angel senses, Castiel was able to feel the entrance of hell due to it's powerful aura. The tunnels smelled moldy, the floor was wet and with every step the angel took, the pull to the mysterious door that would lead to a very important reunion.

--

The door was metal. That was probably the only of two interesting things about it, the other being that it led to Hell. Castiel touched it with two fingers and it opened slowly by it self. Behind it was pitch black darkness and an eerie silence. The angel felt even more anxious than before but he had to do this. He had to meet the King of Hell after seven years, so he stepped inside and the iron door fell shut with a loud crash. The only sound Castiel could hear in the complete darkness was his own heart beat.

And then torches Castiel didn't know where there, lit up. They were lining the walls which were going down into what seemed to be nothing but Castiel had been down here before and so he made his way down the corridor following the now very present torturous screams and cries. The walls were cold stone, the torches illuminating just the way any horror movie director would be keen to recreate. As Castiel looked closer at the flames he realised that there were figures dancing in the fire and as weird as the Angel had found it, it was reassuring and calming to watch. He continued following the narrow corridor until he reached two doors.

The door to the right was a heavy wooden door that reached the ceiling in height and it was covered in blood. It wasn't only a few splatters, the blood covered half the door including the handle. Castiel knew it was blood because it smelled of humans and then he touched it he noticed that the blood was still fresh. This wasn't the most disturbing thing about it though. Behind this door the screams and cries were the loudest, obviously coming from behind this door. With a disgusted look on his face, Castiel viewed the other door. This one was a dark heavy wooden door but it was one of the most elegant doors the Angel had seen in a while. It reached to the ceiling also but instead of blood it had pretty patterns carved into it and it looked way too beautiful to stand in a place like this, but what can one do? Castiel could hardly take the door back up to Heaven with him.

When Castiel twisted the doorknob the door jumped open and led to a beautiful room. He stepped into the room and could feel the eyes of twenty demons on him. They were standing on two rows near the walls to create a defensive barrier, only against an Angel they were defenseless. And the Demons knew that too.

"What do you want, Angel?", an elderly woman with long grey hair and murderous black eyes asks Castiel.

"I'm here to see the King." The thunderous voice that is Castiels boomed through the room and the Demons flinch together in surprise, not having heard the dark voice in Years.

"The King is busy.", said the old lady again.

"Trust me, he'll make time for me." the Angel stated and pridefully marched past the confused and aggrivated Demons and made his way across the room, the Demons with no choice left than to follow the rebellious Angel who had now pushed the doors to the throne room open and entered with the small herd of Demons trolling behind.

And there he was, sitting on a Black Throne. A smile was dancing on his lips. Castiel was taken by surprise. He hasn't seen the man in seven years, although he seemed to not have aged a bit. The face still young and fresh and playful, just like it had always been.

The only thing to tell his age were his eyes. They were sad eyes, the eyes of a man who had been to war and had seen his closest friends die. The King had eyes that told his story for him.

But at the moment not the King or Castiel were speaking, they were staring at each other, the Throne Room ever silent. They both couldn't believe their eyes for their old best friends were standing in front of them. Each of the two were now a little older, a little wiser, the ruler of their own Kingdoms. They had a lot to discuss.

"You still have the trenchcoat?", the King mused with a smile. Castiel looked down and smiled too when he realised that yes, he had kept the overcoat after all these years. With a twinkle in his eyes he looked up at his old best friend and nodded.

"You don't look like a King."

And this time it was the other mans turn to look at himself and laugh. "No, I guess I don't."
He was wearing a loose black AC/CD shirt with tight blue jeans and his hair a sandy blond mess. But he has never looked more beautiful to Castiel in his entire life. And Castiel had never looked more beautiful to the King than now for the entire time they had known each other.

But neither of them were going to speak their thoughts because both Castiel and Dean Winchester were overdramatic idiots..
