"I will have an ice tea, and Mark here will have a kid's chocolate milk," replied a women, her hair was flying in every direction. She had dark bags under her eyes, making her look older than she probably was. He nodded, writing down their order.
"I don't want chocolate milk," Mark crossed his arms over his chest, he put down his PSP, glaring at his mother, "I want Pepsi."
"You can't have Pepsi Mark," His mother shook her head, letting out an exhausted sigh.
"I could have had Pepsi if you would have let me go to Toby' s house."
"Listen to your mother," the father finally spoke up in a tone that meant business, "I'm only in town for a couple of days, we are going to spend some family time together."
Mark snapped his mouth shut, apparently his father's words were final. It's new years eve and Jace Holland is stuck in Red Robins waiting on a middle age couple, with their eleven year old son, who would rather be anywhere else than here. Well me too kid, Jace thought to himself, before leaving to bring back their drinks.
"Hey Jace," Courtney waved from the hostess stand, "can you take over for me real quick, I need to use the bathroom."
"You can't hold it until your break," Jace had other tables to wait on, he didn't have time for this.
"My break isn't for another half hour," Her eyes widened to a look of begging, her voice was pleading. She even started to bounce up and down, doing the potty dance, "Please?"
Jace nodded, he wasn't the only one stuck here on new year's eve, "Let me just get this table their drinks and orders in first."
"Hurry, I'm about to explode."
Jace rushed and was soon leading a couple to a booth by a window. He put a large smile on his face, handing them each a menu. He started to think about Tanner's party tonight. Tanner's parents were out of town, again, and he had an indoor pool. That meant Belinda Lewes, the sexiest girl in school, was probably wearing a skimpy bikini right now. He had even promised her a dance. Damn his job, Tanner's parties were always the best. That was one of the benefits of having him as a best friend.
Jace leaned over the podium, tracing the table layout sheet with his finger. He glanced at the clock, It's been fifteen minutes already, how long does it take a girl to pee, He let out a frustrated sigh. A small ding came from the bell above the door, and he quickly stood up straight. Four girl's walked in, all dressed like they had just come from party. Well, it was new years. Three of the girl's seemed familiar, maybe from his school? One of them had bright red hair, and the other two were blonds. One of them looked like Natalie Peaks, one of his friend's little sister, she was a junior and a huge flirt. He inhaled a quick breath when the fourth girl came into view. She looked his way and smiled. He didn't respond at first, but his natural grin came into place. He felt himself let out a breath of disappointment when one of her friends came up to the podium instead of her. He saw her whispering something to the red head.
"Four please," one of the blonds said, smiling seductively up at him.
He gave her a smile in return, but he found himself glancing back at the fourth girl, who was still talking with the red head. He saw that she had brown hair that was curled past her shoulders. She wore a red dress that hugged her curves. She was more hypnotic than Belinda Lewes.
"Follow me this way," He purposely lead them to his section, just a table away from the middle age couple and their son. He smiled again, but mostly for the girl in the red dress, "Your waiter will be with you shortly."
He speed walked back to the podium, looking out the window for any cars turning into the driveway. None. He grabbed his order pad and pen, walking back over to the girl's table.
