The calm and peaceful atmosphere of the mountains and the fact you can see for miles. There are caves hidden in the ledges for the small animals and quite a few large and medium sized ones for bears or mountain lions.
There are plenty of cliffs overlooking the forest. At the base of the mountain, the river is there.
There are high trees so the birds can make nests there, without getting attacked. If of course, the predator doesn't want to climb high up.
The sun shines down onto the rocks, so it makes it a great tanning spot for most.
