The sun was setting over the navy blue ocean. The sky was turning into a beautiful sunset with stars slowly popping out from their hiding spots.
"Wow! I've never seen anything more beautiful" Riley said with a star stuck look plastered on her face. "Hey doll face did anything useful to start the fire? Or have you and everyone else been lying around doing nothing?" I yelled, walking from the tree line. "Peaches! Look how beautiful the sky looks." Riley pointed towards the sky. "Amazing! If only I had a my supplies I would paint the gorgeous sene in front of my eyes." I smiled
"Hey kitty's. Look what I brought for everyone. FOOD! Hungry anyone?" Josh walked over to the group of starving teenagers. Lucus ran up to josh with a helping hand "finally! I thought the both of you were unsuccessful when I seen maya returned with nothing." Josh handed out banana's, apples, coconuts, and fresh water. " well it was getting late so I sent her back. I have to admit i was running outta hope of getting anything until I ran into some food and a little waterfall with fresh water!" "Josh losing hope? I thought you never lost hope" Riley said. "Yeah well you try to find food and water when their isn't any in this hot and miserable island" Josh relied with a smirk. "True. Well thanks uncle josh I was starving for food and my throat was dry like the sand between my toes." She grabbed some food and coconut from him. " your welcome niece."
"Well boys I thought you guys would have set up camp for everyone while I was gone?" Josh asked. "We were until farkle and I started arguing about who was going to start the fire." Lucus snarled towards farkle. "Why argue? Just get the fire started, plain and simple. We don't need the ladies shivering just because you guys can't play well." Josh grabbed two rocked stood up and started to walk over to the pile of wood. "I guess I'll start the fire tonight, but tomorrow you boys better set your stupidity aside and figure out who will be in charge of the fire tomorrow."
Maya watched josh start the fire with anger, how dare he tell the boys that! Maybe he should take his own advice about setting his differences aside and figure what he wants. I thought I knew josh, I guess I had him all wrong. He's such a jerk playing with my feelings, does he take joy of my misery?
"Mya are you alright? Is something bothering you?" Riley asked interrupting my thoughts. "No, I'm fine it's just the heat getting to me, and the thought of dying here on this stupid island!" I growled. "Everything with me fine peaches. Our parents probably got the news the plan never landed and everyone is probably looking for us! We will be off this island soon!" She gave me a reassuring smile. "I know. I'm just scared. Thanks Riley for comforting me. I'm really glad I have you with me to help keep me sane. Honestly I would have lost my mind a long time ago without you." I sheepishly smiled. " yeah I know peaches." She replied.
Everyone was either sitting or lying around the fire with worry planted on their faces. "Why does everyone have that sour face?" Josh asked. "What do you mean?" " how could we not?" The boys relied. "Incase you haven't forgot we're stuck on this island with out any connection to the outside world, without any stable fresh water and food supply and heat source. We could die any minute, we have not idea what is out there. Hell Im not sure if we're ever going to get off this island. WERE LOST AT SEA! Sorry we have a grumpy expression, are we supposed to be happy?" I yelled. "No, but we can't have false hope. If we lose our faith and hope we for sure will end up dead. We got to keep striving for survival! We have family looking for us, and if we lose hope now they will find our corpse." Josh looked at me. Everyone went silent they didn't know what to do with josh and maya brawling with each other. "Maybe Lucus should sing us a song?" Farkle chimes in. "Umm, I'm not that good of a singer farkle. And I don't have my guitar with me." He had a blush grow on his cheeks. "Sure you are huckleberry, I've heard you sing before. You don't need a instrument we could clap our hands and whistle a tune for you." I jumped in. "Fine, just as long as you sing with maya. I'm not the only one who can bust out a tune." Lucus said. "Okay huckleberry what song you want to sing?" I asked with intrigued. "How about the song we sang for Riley's 18th birthday?" He asked. "Yes! I love that song. It was beautiful. Thanks again peaches for writing that song for me." Riley smiled. "Okay." I agreed.
After me and farkle sang a few songs everyone was swaying to the music with smiles and giggles. It was a moment everyone was going to remember from this crazy adventure fate brought them.
"Okay kitties time to hit the sack we got a long day ahead of us tomorrow since everyone didn't do much today. The boys and me will head out early in the morning to scavenge for food and water. Girlies your job is to set up camp , find fire wood, clean clothes, and blankets enough for everyone." Everyone agreed to the terms and started to clean up a little and started to split into groups of two because they only found a couple of blankets for the night. "Goodnight guys" Josh called out when everyone was settled in. "Oh and no funny business, I'll be checking." He looked at everyone "yes uncle josh." Riley giggled. After a a few minutes everyone started to drifted off to sleep except for maya. "Maya you need to get some rest." Josh whispered. I didn't reply. "Maya, I know your awake why are you ignoring me?" He asked. I still didn't reply. "Fine you don't have to talk to me but I have one thing to say. I'm sorry for what I did I didn't mean to make it seem like I'm playing with your emotions it won't happen again I promise. Oh, and you have a amazing voice by the way. Goodnight maya." He turned over and fell asleep. Playing with my emotions? It won't happen again? Why? Fine, If he truly doesn't want anything to happen between us then it won't. I'm tired of being the lost love puppy chasing after him. I'm done with loving him, I will move on and for get about him. I stared up at the sky for a while until I felt my eyelids close and darkness toon over me and welcomed me into a world of dreams.
