Mark had been doing absolutely nothing, as was his usual routine. He wanted to take a break off of YouTube, and ever since that incident happened he doesn't think he can get back on. So, he had left all his equipment in his recording room up stairs to never be used unless he felt like it was time. Why did he do that? If he would've just... No... I'll get angry again... calm down. Mark released a breath sighing. He was bored, nothing special happened other then his friends coming to visit and that was rare now because of two things. YouTube. And the incident. Wether he liked it or not, it was always those two things that had screwed his life up. He wanted to feel bad, he wanted to apologize, he wanted to be forgiven, and he wanted to get back to the way things were... but the thing is, he couldn't do it. He could never do it because In reality. He wasn't sorry.
Mark was woken up not by his golden retriever Chica but by a truck beeping loudly. He got up and rubbed his eyes then turned to his alarm clock, 5:42 AM, it was to early for this. He yawned before arching his back and walked downstairs to where his living room and kitchen would be waiting. He then heard a thunk outside his house, it seemed odd, he glanced a little at his door daring to go outside, but since nothing cool happened anymore, what fun can a little suspicion have? He walked over to his door not really bothered to put on his house slippers, luckily it wasn't a cold day because he was wearing a white tank top with sport shorts, he might have tookn his bed robe but he didn't want to go back up for it. As he opened the door he emediatly took notice of a green haired male that seemed to be around 24, Mark was perplexed by this, he didn't know someone was moving in.... then again he hadn't really bothered to care for a couple of years now.
Once the young male put down a box he sighed as he smiled happily at the person who was helping him. Mark for some reason wanted to know this young guy, but why? Out of all the people why him? What could he have that no one else did? As the green haired male turned in his direction smiling at the guy before him, his eyes turned to Mark's. Mark felt as if the world had stopped spinning on its axis, the whole world moved in slow motion for a bit. Then, the young green haired man's eyes widened as he said something to the fellow helper and started walking to Mark, Mark who should've known not to be standing there like and idiot and do something didn't. He wasn't common with this situation like he had been when he talked with someone, even a random person, Mark just didn't know what was going on.
"Tappa the mornin to ya! My name is Sean, but call me Jack! I came here from Ireland and I don't want to sound crazy or anything but I do know who you are! You are one of the most famous YouTubers! Markiplier!" He said cheerfully putting out his hand as his warm bright smile seemed to make Mark squirm, yet feel something in him he hasn't ever felt. Instead of shaking his hand he scratched the back if his neck. "I was," he corrected Jack as he looked down. "Uh. I'm not really good with greetings, kinda rusty." He replied as the thought of what he did recoiled in his mind making his tounge a bitter taste.
"Oh? Uh, I didn't know, I'm sorry. Uh. Well, if you'd like! You're free to come over to my house anytime ya like! I'm also a famous YouTuber!" He replied getting a little giddy which surprised Mark because he seemed to smile and say something he hadn't thought he'd say. "I'd love to get to know you." He clamped his mouth after saying that by biting his tounge. Idiot! What are you saying? I can't! Remember what happened last time! Then a frighting thought came to his mind. Did Jack know about his incident? Even so, why did Mark care?! Why was he caring so much for this guy?
"I'd love to! Why don't I get settled in and all that, and then I guess... uh... What exactly do you do in L.A?" He replied getting flustered which made Mark smirk. "You've never been here?" This made Jack blush more which somehow made Mark pleased. Jack squirmed as if he had to give a speech to an entire school. "Uh... I've actually... never been anywhere except my home."
Mark didn't know why but he somehow decided to help Jack out with unpacking. Could it be because he felt pity? Jack hadn't been anywhere except the place he grew up in for his whole life. And maybe because something made him click with Jack in this short amount of time of knowing each other.
"It's really nice meeting someone so awesome like you Mark! I thought I'd never be as famous as you, I'm still not. But thanks to PewDiePie giving me a shout out I've had alot of subscribers! The only reason I actually wanted to be a YouTuber was because of you." He replied as they sat down on Jack's couch drinking some lemonade. Mark was surprised at this, he knows that maybe someone might've also become a YouTuber because of him, but why did this make any difference then the others? What did he have that they didn't? Mark just looked back down at his drink, he then felt a nudge on his arm, looking at his side he saw Jack smiling sympathetically. "H-hey, I'm sorry for whatever happened. I probably shouldn't have even really been talking to you or saying something you don't like." So he didn't know about the incident! Mark sighed in relief about this... but why? "Nah, it's not your fault Jack, I'll tell you what. How about we do this each day. Ya know, going to each other's house or around?" Jack looked at him with wide eyes. "Really Mark?" He replied, only now had Mark realized that Jack's accent was adorable, and only now had he realized he was staring way to long at Jack's eyes. "Really." He replied as he then looked back to his cup and drank it, after doing that he thanked him and was ready to leave before a tap was felt on Mark's shoulder. "Er, Mark?" Replied Jack as he looked down not meeting his eyes which made Mark sad. "C-can we, ya know, be friends?" Now everything that Mark listened to went out the window. Is he serious? Can he be serious? Why? Once he figures out what I did... I should be in jail for that...
Mark's thoughts clouded his mind as his eyes became dark. "No, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have really been here anyways." He replied opening the door before closing it not daring to look back and see if Jack had opened the door, once he reached his house he opened his door and went straight to his room where Chica lay, her head rising up as her tail wagged before he got into bed and put the covers over his head. The next morning Jack heard a nock at his door which Chica had picked up her head and jumped off of the bed bounding towards the door. Mark growled for being woken up, he quickly put on different clothes and brushed his teeth before going down stairs opening up the door. "What?!" He yelled before he wished he hadn't said that, his eyes soon warmed up and he frowned as he saw Jack taking a step back frightened. "I-I'm sorry Jack, I don't usually yell at people." He replied looking down. It wasn't a lie, nor was it the total truth, he had yelled even to his closest friends and family since the incident. Jack faltered as he seemed to look down his eyes getting a bit watery but he shook it away turning to that cheerful guy Mark had known since yesterday. "Yeah, I might have been to early hu? Everyone likes sleep." He chuckled clearly trying to bring something up.
Mark had just stared emotionless at Jack, he seemed to look at Jack up and down, not with his head but with his eyes, he was trying to figure out why someone like him kept persisting to come here, only if it was yesterday that they had met.
"Jack, do you have any food?" He replied.
Jack shook his head laughing a little. "N-no sorry, uh, where is a food shop?" He replied as his face seemed to heat up. Mark smiled before chuckling. "I really need to show you around." He replied. Mark told him to come in, Chica already grew a liking to this man, her tail wagging as she wanted to be petted, Mark understood, she hadn't really had any contact in a while. Mark making sure he looked well other then this morning he then proceeded picked up his keys, turning to Jack who seemed to be talking to Chica and smiling, Mark somehow felt left out, he felt betrayed. But the scariest part was, he didn't feel betrayed because of Chica, he felt betrayed because he felt that Jack should be the only one to have his attention. Since when did Mark care for a guy more then Chica? Since when did Mark care for a guy at all? Since when had he fallen in love with a guy? He felt anger boil inside him for Jack not paying attention, he then walked over tapping his shoulder hiding his emotion really well by placing on a soft smile. "C'mon Jack, let's go get you some food." He replied as he turned around waiting for Jack to get out as he closed the door locking it, and then proceeding to his car, they both got in as Mark locked the car and pulled out of the driveway.
"Mark?" Replied Jack as he looked around his surroundings taking it in. Mark glanced at him smiling. "Hm?" Jack then looked to him. "Is L.A really big?" Mark nodded. "O-oh." Jack replied squirming in his seat. Mark smirked. "What? Scared of big places." Jack nodded and Mark chuckled. "Don't worry, Mark's here for you, I'll keep you safe." And Mark wasn't intending to break that promise. His hands gripped around the wheel tightening before he relaxed them and kept driving with Jack in the passenger seat. "I promise."
