Chapter 5: home?
*Alexandria*
“Home? Ty what are you talking about? This is a freaking castle!”
“I know. How is Collin doing?”
“What! He still hasn’t woken up. I’m getting worried.” I looked at his face, and noticed that his lip wasn’t broken open like the last time I saw him. It was a little puffy, but besides that, it was totally normal. I must be getting blind or something.
“Talk to him.”
“What? Pardon me?”
“Talk to him. If you want him to wake up, talk to him, kiss him for heaven’s sake I don’t care, he needs to wake up before we get to the castle.”
“Why do you want me to kiss him? It is scientifically imp…”
“Do it if you want him and us to live woman!” OK, what’s the urgency? He’s not gonna die, right? We aren’t gonna die, right?
“Um, Collin please wake up.”
“Oh come on now you can’t even talk? Inspiring stories girl, worth opening your freaking lids for!”
“Fine! Collin please wake up! Otherwise who is gonna feed your turtle? Who’s gonna keep Polly out of trouble? Who’s gonna be on my side when I fight with Ty? Who is gonna be able to make me laugh at school, even if it’s just a giggle?” I didn’t notice, but tears started flowing out of me like a cataract, and my voice was barely above a whisper but still breaking down at every word that left my dry mouth, “Who am I gonna be able to tell my secrets to? Who will be the only person that knows the real me? Please Collin, you are my best friend, you are my funny, bookworm, smart-ass, cute, silly, weird BFF…please…don’t leave me.” I apparently was out of words, I didn’t know what else to say, there is way more, but I can’t get them out anymore.
“So, why did you stop? Keep going.” I hear a husky, groan-like voice tell me. My head immediately shot up, way too fast since I got a headache, but who cares?
“I stopped 'cause you woke up dummy! Ty are you psychic?”
“You wish princess sis.” Wow, he heard everything. Oh.
“I told you not to call me princess!”
“But you are one sweetie.” I hear a woman’s voice, who was giving me diet habits just this morning.
“MOTHER, what are you doing here? Where are we? Why is there a freaking-huge castle, like for a freaking rich princess?”
“I am home, you are home, and we are in trouble. Hi Collin how are you feeling?”
“Hi Mrs. Phoenyx, I’m as good as I can be having the same questions as Dria.”
“Oh honey I’m so sorry Zarah attacked you, we thought she was a good girl, and for that we apologize to you and your parents.”
“No problem Mrs. Phoenyx, I’m alive aren’t I?”
Mother chuckles, “Oh that’s the Collin I know, trying to find the funny thing about everything”. Mother nudges Collin playfully in the arm, while I pull away from him since the car is way too small for seven people (Daddy, Tyler, Mother, Collin flat on the seat, some big guys I don’t know around my mother and father and me). Then, as I get out of the car, I hear a deafening scream. I turn around immediately to see Collin holding his chest screaming out of his lungs.
