Katherine's POV

To most people, graduating from high school seems like a really big deal. Well not to me, you get to sit with your friends who you'll no longer school with. It might feel weird to you but all i wanted was for the whole thing to come to an end.

Sitting between my two close friends from the whole session as they talk to me about latest trends, fashion lines and so on, made me feel bored to death. I awaited as my favourite part of the whole idea of a graduation comes, the prize giving. This is one important part of my life that I've always been so proud of.

As I listened to the principal, I paraded with my eyes through the seats in search of my parents. I finally found them, then I realized that they were beaming at me for reasons I know nothing of, until I felt Santa, one of my close friends poke me on my side.

"You've been called" she whispered to me. I then realized that I was being called on by the principal to come up on stage. I sprang up from my seat and walked up to the stage, I saw my dad walking up to the stage proudly.

I received different award even some of my friends did, now for the most important award of all time, THE VALEDICTORIAN.

"And the valedictorian of this year's graduating students goes to........" He purposely prolonged it in order to leave both parents and students anxious to know.
Classic!!

"Katherine Belle"

I heard my name and walked up to the stage majestically where my father and principal already awaited me. I collected my award and received a provisional handshake from the principal which I didn't really find special at all.

Some of my mates were throwing angry glares at me. A lot of people usually wonders how a billionaire's daughter got to be so brilliant, but that question is short lived when they conclude that my father must have paid the school a large sum of money.

My father is one of the richest people in the states, he has a lot of companies. Everyone knows about the belle's hotels, belle's boutiques ( which is run by my mum), belle's restaurant, belle's building companies even belle's candy.

So when people asks, ' how does she do it?'. The normal response will be ' she has a rich father, what else do you expect, it was rigged'.

Well I wouldn't blame them except for the fact that those angry glares thrown by my mates aren't because of that theory but because they know how hard I've worked for this. My school is a very strict school, computers are usually used to conduct the school tests and once you're done, your result is out looking straight right out at you. That's why they have no option but to glare because I've worked hard for this.

The paparazzi were there to take pictures of me, another thing I know for sure, its definitely coming out in the papers tomorrow.

Finally, the graduation was over, all of my friend wanted to take pictures with me but I declined with immediate effect. You must think that's harsh but what's worse is when you see that your friends actually want to take pictures with you just so they can see their faces either on the newsletter or on television. Its not the first time they've tried it.

Mum and dad took me out to celebrate which I was grateful for  but the feeling of happiness wasn't there because obviously we weren't alone, dad had to invite the paparazzi on my so called special day just to advertise his brands and automatically plan my career.

To most people, I may seem rude and snobbish but if those are the characters you need to exhibit just so people can take you seriously then i'm willing to be just that.

After our 'celebration', we all went home, then dad decided to start a new depression conversation with me, one which I might and might not have expected.

"Sweet heart, I've made a decision, I want you to study abroad".

Well this is definitely serious.
