If I could write a childrens story
It would start in a castle up high
Covered with sparkling glitter
Shining into the night sky..
Flowers hanging in baskets
Gifts stacked by the door
People all happy and laughing
The home of a princess they all adore
Beautiful expensive dresses
Lots of tiaras on display
Servants rushing here and there
Whispering all that they say
Floors white and gleaming
Windows so squeaky clean
Tables full of wonderful dishes
Things you would never have seen
Magical creatures are present
All walking together side by side
Such wealth on display
Everyone showing such pride
This castle has a moat
Where other strange creatures live
Daily they are fed from the bridge
Payment for the protection they give
An enchanted forest sits there
Just down the castle road
Watched over by giant soldiers
Standing waiting to reload
All armed with axes and rifles
Painted red and white
With just one single purpose
To give any attacker a fright
Knights practice combat in the meadow
Their mounts brushed till they shine
Shields and swords crashing
The sharpening tool at a constant whine
Flags waving from the battlements
Archers practise their aim
A truly wondrous picture
To spoil it would be a shame
But as is the way of kingdoms
Conflict is always a threat
Traps need to be put out
Pots of tar and a spike filled net
The drawbridge is closed
The knights take up their arms
The princess is shut away
Invaders are after her charms
A battle soon commences
Short and sweet as they often are
But our castle is at an advantage
the invaders have travelled so far
Many prisoners are soon taken
Kindness is what they are shown
And very soon they change sides
They too make our castle their home
A glorious celebration is planned
A victory feast for all the men
As Our adventure story has reached its climax
Until our castle is attacked once again.........
