❤️ Chelsea's P.O.V. ❤️

The alarm went off at 6:30, blasting it's loud beeping noise probably through the whole house. I usually don't use the alarm because my mom wakes me up when she wakes up. However, today, as I had Emelia over as company, we would take longer to get ready and therefore I have to wake up slightly earlier.

I turned on my side to turned the alarm off and using my knee, I nudged Emelia in the ribs. She, however, was out cold and it didn't seem like she was waking up any time soon. I started to nudge her harder and harder until I was practically shaking her like a rag doll. She flinched. Whew. I was making progress. When I finally got her to wake up, she went off to wash her face as I picked out our outfits for the day. I knew her style quite well, so there wasn't much difficulty in this task.

"You gonna shower first?" Emelia asked, patting dry her face as she walked back into my bedroom. I nodded, and made my way into the bathroom, while Emelia grabbed a book from the desk and started to flip through it as she waited on the bed. Workaholic much?

I got into the bathroom and took a shower. It was hot and steamy at first until the horrific smell of burning plastic filled the room. At this point, I realize I've been in there too long and so I turned it onto cold water to cool me down and wake me up as I was still kind of sleepy. A long shower gave me nothing but benefits. It was the perfect opportunity to gear myself for the day, or to wind down for the night. It was sort of my zen place. Not long later, I came out of the shower, wrapped the towel around my body, picked up my clothes and walked out.

When I walked into the room, Emelia was still cramming for Chemistry which she had for the first two periods of school.

"Your turn." I said and signalled her to the bathroom.

At 7:20, we were both ready and were packing our bags. We had enough time to eat breakfast at home, but we decided to get some on our way to school. As we got ready to leave, I kissed my mom goodbye and walked out of the house. I drove us to school.

We stopped at the gas station to get some breakfast. I opted for a hot chocolate and  a donut while Emelia got a fruit salad. The difference in our breakfasts really said a lot about who we were. We laughed and listened to the radio until we got to school. As soon as I took off the engine, I remembered that I'd be seeing Evan today and immediately, I broke into a smile. The events of last night completely left my mind, and I thought about today as a fresh new start. With my plan in my back pocket, I was going to make the most of the day.

First two periods, I had art. We had an in class assignment to draw different profiles of the same face, and of course, we had to get a model. I chose to draw Evan, then photocopy the full face profile and give it to him as a gift. As Evan was in Chemistry with Emelia, I had to use pictures from his Facebook account which I pulled up on my phone. I pulled out my headphones and plugged it into my phone and began playing some music. I got my pencils out of my bag and a sketch pad page and began to draw away to the music. I wouldn't consider myself an artist, but observational pieces were a strength of mine, and I enjoyed drawing. 2 hours later, the full face profile was pretty much done (and photocopied) and I was halfway through the right side profile.

"Please, finish off your profiles for next class, and bring your paints next week please. You are dismissed." Miss said. I took the headphones out and started to pack my bag. I gathered all my pencils and stuffed them into my art pencil case and I grabbed my relatively big sketchbook. I had difficulty juggling all my things but managed to walk to a bench outside to wait on Emelia and Evan. We all had a free period next so I decided to make myself comfortable.

🌸 Emelia's P.O.V. 🌸

I was furiously tapping my foot on the floor and the tip of my converse made it so everyone could hear. I was currently losing my patience with the chemistry teacher. We finished our work 10 minutes before the bell was supposed to ring and so we chilled out. Now that the bell rang, he decided to let homework assignments flow out of him. My stomach was biting at me and the last thing I needed was to be kept back from some nourishment. Finally, we were dismissed and as I was walking to our class, Evan came up to me.

"Hey, you know if Chelsea would be out of class yet?" He asked. He seemed a bit out of it. I mean, a double period of chemistry could do that to anyone, but he looked extremely sleep deprived yet, not very irritated.

I nodded my head and checked my phone. I told him she was waiting for us on a bench outside and  watched as he ran off. With my energy drained due to my hunger, I continued to stroll her. Eventually I met up with them, and sat down, at this point pretty hangry.

"Please tell me you have something to eat." I said to no one in particular. Evan scrummaged through his bag and pulled out pack of chips. I desperately took it and began to eat it it. My mouth was already full before I realised I hadn't actually thanked him. With my mouth full, I gave him a thanks. He smirked at me and then looked at Chelsea.

"In art class, we had to draw someone..." Chelsea started. "And... here you go." Chelsea pulled out a beautiful sketch of...Evan. Evan beamed and took the picture from Chelsea.

"This is so amazing. You're an awesome artist!" He said genuinely. "Thanks for drawing me, of all people."

I sat quietly. I wasn't hurt that she didn't pick me... ok I was slightly. But she didn't even give me a second glance. Chelsea pulled out a pencil and signed the sketch. She seemed so proud of herself and she had every right to be. It was a beautiful sketch. But I sat in the back, quite salty. Evan complimented her signature, before they cracked an inside joke and started laughing. Obviously I remained quiet, I had no idea what they were talking about. But I couldn't even think about my feelings right now because my stomach continued to grumble.

I crumpled up the now empty, bag of chips and stood up, quite abruptly.

"Guys I'm starving still, let's go to the cafe and eat." They all agreed and we began walking out of the class. We were still on our way to the school cafe when Evan and Chelsea kept stopping. Evan was showing off his picture while Chelsea stood there taking in all the compliments. Now not only was hungry, I was bitter. This jealous side of me was one I always tried my best to hide and I would call it my worst trait. But there wasn't anything I could do to stop these thoughts. It seemed to be a permanent part of me. Eventually we got to the cafeteria. They went to sit down and talked while I went to get a sandwich. I spent the rest of the period talking to a couple of my other friends, slightly angry, but mostly neutral.

After our free period, Chelsea and I had entrepreneurship class for the last two hours. This class was a hybrid class and we didn't always have to do this in school. We had a project to start our business plan. Today, we only had the first half an hour of class for our teacher to give back test papers. The rest of the day was then ours. During the half hour of class, I left to go to the bathroom. I avoid this as much as possible, but I really couldn't wait this time. Right in front of the bathroom, I bumped into Evan and fell to the ground. Wow, nice one Em.

"Oh I'm so sorry Emelia." He said helping me get up. I was dusting off my pants while saying,

"It's not a prob-" I then looked up into his eyes, "...lem." He looked into my eyes and we were both silenced. Damn, I didn't realise he was so attractive? And he was a genuinely nice person.

"Um.. I gotta get back to class." He said awkwardly as he walked past me bumping into me, again. He smelt so good. He continued to walk off for a few seconds as I turned into the bathroom. "Emelia." He called out, walking back towards me. "If it's not a problem, could I get your number? I mean, we have chemistry together, and there's this group assignment and.. just in case I need a little help... please. If you don't mind."

Burning up on the inside, I pulled out a pen from my hair and wrote my number on his arm.

"Thanks." He said smiling. He gently took the pen from my hand and wrote his number on my hand too.

"Um, and here's my instagram name... just in case texting fails us." He said handing me back the pen. He winked at me and walked off. I turned around and went into the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror. Yup, just like that, I was definitely into him. I can't let Chelsea know now, she's already got her 'plan' to chase after him. And chances are he'll pick her over me. I tried to calm myself down. After all, this was only his second day at the school. He was probably just trying to make friends.
