A son of Skyrim stood in a battle stance on the grounds of Sovngarde. His frame aching from fighting and the lack of rest. Sweat dripped from his forehead, along with the blood that trickled down from the cut that was placed there. He kept his eyes on the prey, making sure he won't become harmed to the extreme. The Tongue's that were fighting by his side shouted back the fog that was created by the king of the dovah. A roar was heard, and from behind the broken word wall on to of the hill infront of them rose the great beast himself.
Vedris leaned back a little before shouting the sky shattering Thu'um. Blue light exploded from the target that was hit with the power, forcing the dragon to land. The Nord charged at the tyrant with his sword drawn and slashed it against Alduins wing. The lizard roared in pain and bashed Vedris with his wing, sending him to the ground a couple feet away.
Propping himself up he saw how the Tongues kept the king busy, and his back was towards Vedris. Taking this as his chance, the Nord rose up quickly and clutched his sword in his hand before racing towards the beast. Unleashing the cry of another Thu'um caused the beast to stumble and the Nord leapt onto its back.
Alduin could feel the Dovahkiin on his back and his fear grew. The king then took off and lifted his body into the air once the power of Dragonrend had lifted, despite the injuries that he had sustained on his wing. The Nord stumbled and collided into the beasts back. Before falling off completely, the mortal grabbed onto one of Alduins spikes that rose from his armor.
Vedris grunted from the impact and the grip on his sword was lost and so was the weapon. He went to reach into his boot for the ebony dagger that held there, but his free hand had to clamp around that same spike as the lizard shook his body to pry the joore off. When the king stopped and took off flying straight up into Sovngardes sky, Vedris held his grip on the spike.
The Dragonborn looked downwards and saw that if his strength failed him at that moment he would end up in Sovngarde, soul and body. Worry flickered over his face has he felt his hands slip a little. But that didn't last long as he felt his whole body lift from the lizards body as the king was diving back towards the ground.
Will a cry he conjured flames from his belly and scorched the dragons back. This action caused Alduin to yield in his dive and flinch in the air. Taking his chance, the Nord grabbed his dagger and once he felt the hilt he jerked it out of its holding place and jammed it into the skin that was exposed from the black armor. A cry of pain torn through the tyrants throat.
Vedris cried out and used Dragonrend as he dug the dagger in further till it could go no deeper. Blue light blinded the Nord as he felt the dragon land onto the ground. Once the lizard had landed, the king turned his head towards the joore that dared call himself a dovah and shouted him off of his back.
Crying out from pain, the Nords body was slammed against a rock wall. Groaning the Dragonborn was suddenly tired and all the pain that he received from the fight ran it course throughout his body. He didn't dare to lift his head as he felt the ground beneath his battered frame shake.
A deep voice spoke," You are persistent Dovahkiin. Pruzah ol aar. A fine slave you would have made." The ground shook more as the king made its way closer to the grounded mortal. "Kel drey ni viik. I will not be defeated by a mere joore!"
The ground stopped shaking and the joore dovah could feel the hot breath from the tyrant on his body. The Nord lifted his head up, and his hand clutched the dirt from the ground in his hand. What he saw confused the Nord as he saw the dragon with cracks of light coming from his black armor. "Daar lein los dii. Him sil fen nahkip bahloki. Die now in vain Dovahkiin."
Mustering up all his strength, the Dragonborn threw the dirt he held in his hand into the lizards red pulsating eye, blinding the king. The tyrant roared from iteration and soon clamped his jaw onto Vedris's leg. A scream of pain ripped its way from the joores throat and he swung his fists against the dragons muzzle. The Nord was soon swung around in the air before being realised and sent flying through the air.
Once the body of the Dragonborn hit the ground he didn't move. He could see Alduin being charged at by two of the Tongues as they raced into his fading vision. A mers voice was heard from behind him and Vedris felt a hand being placed upon his back.
He watched as the old man and younger male finish Alduin off. The two Tongues backed away as the tyrant swung his head back and forth crying out. More cracks of light rose from the armor. "Zu'u unslaad! Zu'u nis oblaan!"
As the Nord watched Alduins armor burn away from his frame he felt pain blossom from his side and he too cried out. Vedris was flipped onto his back and he saw all three of the Tongues in his view. The mer was kneeling next to him, a dagger with blood dripping from its blade. It was his blood. The men stood above, one on his side and the other next to the mer.
An explosion of light and a cry from Alduin enclosed them. When the light cleared, Vedris turned his head to only see the skeletal structure left of the king. But he did not absorb his soul, it just rose towards the colored sky.
"Well that takes care of that problem.", the mer spoke.
"Does he not die or what?"
The old man turned toward the younger male. "He's fading, he won't last long. Take your sword and lay him to rest."
"Why..." Vedris rasped. "Why did...you stab...m-me...?"
A humph was heard from the mer, "Well with the great beast gone we no longer need a Dragonborn, now do we? Besides you've fulfilled your destiny."
The younger male took out his greatsword and the old man began to give the Nord his final words. No, Vedris thought, no I will not die like this! The Dragonborn looked towards the skeleton and mustered up the little amount of his strength he had left before unleashing a shattering Thu'um towards the bones. "Slen Tiid Vo!"
"What is he doing?!" The mer cried
Vedris cried out the shout again.
Orange glowing light soon began to spread along the bones.
"He's bringing the World Eater back! Hakon quickly before-!"
It was too late, the joore shouted one last time and the World Eaters armor grew down his back. The corpse lifted itself up and the tyrants head swung in their direction. He saw that the Dovahkiin had shouted him back to life. A grin was over his face and it still held there as the ancient Nord sword plunged into the Nords gut.
The Dragonborn only looked towards them and as he heard the roar of the king himself he grinned at the horrified expressions that were held onto the Tongues faces. The joore gave one last reply before entering a realm of darkness.
"Never betray a fellow dovah."
