~Daniel POV

I couldnt see her face.

The shadows of dancers and and sea of masks left me clueless as to who she was.

I had never see a dancer quite like her.

And my Father Antonio owned the theater in which the ball was being held.

And i knew every one of the guest invited to the ball and watched all of them enter the room with such grace and jewles almost like royalty.

But this one girl left me to wonder.

Who is she? Did she sneak in with out an invitation? Or is this most beautiful Dancer a figment of my lonely imagination?

Either way i would find out when the dinner the servants put together and every one has taken off their masks and is seated at their name tags.

"Dinner is searved Mr. Howles" my servant Gavroch told me confused that i was not already at the table. Gavroch is around 40 years old and has been single since the death of his wife and son from the black pleage.

"Yes thank you Gavroch" i said and patted his back. I still watched as the amazing dancer spun under the beautiful lights that danced off her beautiful gown.

I waited and waited for her to be seated. She never sat down for dinner.

I had enough. i needed to know the girl who was dancing so beautifully making my mind spin like she was dancing in my own head.

i decided to go and confront the girl to know her name, her face, her voice, everything that is making me go insain for her.

She looked in my direction as it stood up and walked toward her.

I was only a foot from her face and she looked startled.

"Please what is your name i must know" i said grabbing hold of her hand and almost pleading.

she did not answer but pulled away.

"You do not need to know my name as badly as you think you do sir Daniel" she said with such eligance.

"You know me?" i said not knowing almost blinded that she was starting to step away.

"Please do not go i need to know. I need to know you, your name, your face, your voice" i said with out a care.

I could only see her mouth but i didnt want just that.

i needed to see her whole face.

not just the glance of her soft red lips and the eyes that seemed to glow blue like the moon.

With out a care i grabbed her face and kissed her. i reached up for the string of her mask behind her head almost pulling it completely off. But she grabbed her mask and stepped away.

With a swing of her hand she slapped my face.

She ran away.

My face stung with pain and curiosity got the best of me.

I ran after her.

~Girl dancer POV

i felt hunted with him racing after me.

I didnt want him to know who i was his father would have me back on the streets and never trust me with being in the theater anymore.

"Leave me alone!!" i yelled at daniel as i turned the corner kicking off my heels and avoiding the guest around the ball room chating and drinking wine served from Gavroch.

"I will never!" Daniel said and was almost right behind me.

He grabbed the Dress and pulled me back making me fall to the ground.

he flipped me over crawling on top of me.

I kicked and screamed. "Get off me!!!" i pleaded and he pinned me down.

He put both of my hands under his left hand and reached up for my mask.

Then I knew the only thing to stop him from seeing my face.

I told Mrs. Babney to shut the power down if anyone tried to take of my mask.

"Nanna!!!" i screamed and the power shut off.

It was pitch black and Daniel slipped off my mask but didnt see my face.

"No" he said and i pushed him off me.

I ran for the wall and pushed open the secret door servants use to clean the theater with out disturbing guest.

i looked back and could almost see the face of daniel holding the mask and almost crying.

I said to him before i closed the secret door.

"I'm sorry daniel" then i could hear him sob as i closed the door.

The next morning

~Daniel POV

I held the mask in my hands feeling ever indent of the mask imagining what the girls face looked like.

Then i remembered the dark Brown hair and blue eyes that i could remember from anywhere.

I needed to find this mystery girl!
