Beauty Beyond the Mask

~Willow POV

I slipped away into the darkness of the secret hall.

I felt my leg almost snap in two when I entered the door.

shouldn't have taken the stairs, they were just polished and I slipped.

I could have risked my identity being seen and being kicked out of the theater for sneaking in to a party with out an invitation.

"Mrs. Babney?" I said behind me hopping she followed but no answer came back so I continued down the scary hall I had explored to many times to remember.

I then hobbled to a light of the dressing room that peaked through the secret door and I pushed it open.

I stood behind the curtain of the changing room and heard people talking on the other side.

I slowly closed the door and shadows past in front of the curtain. 

"Mrs. Babney why do you hide her from me?" Daniels voice said and Mrs. Babney answered.

"I promised her never to tell"

"My Heart keeps breaking every time she runs from me, ask her one thing for me Please Mrs. Babney."

"Yes, What shall I ask her"

"If she loves me..." he said and I could hear the door close behind him and disappeared.

Then the curtain moved. Babney stood tall.

"Well do you?" She asked and I blushed.

I wondered the room to my table and sat down.

"Why do you think I snuck to the Ball that one night. Yes! I do love him. This is crazy I cant love him his father will know and Antonio..."

"Enough with Antonio he has no control over you!" Mrs. Babney said interrupting me.

She grabbed my hands and held them.

"I didn't raise you like this Willow, to be scared of one man. I raised you to fight for what you want even if it has some consequences. Daniel is trying so hard to find you!" She said and put her forehead on my hands.

"Mrs. Babney What can I do?" I asked her and she looked up with a smile and a little giggle.

"He thinks the one that is his love is the one that keeps running away, if he sees you don't run stay still and he wont think your the girl of his dreams" she said and I looked at her like she was a genius.

"But he gave me something to give you" she said and reached to her pocket and pulled out my mask.

I took it and put it on.

"oh how I missed you so" I said with a laugh and hugged Mrs. Babney.

 

~Daniel POV

"Ok I gave the mask back now all I need is another ball for her to come to" I said to my dog that laid on the floor looking at me.

I patted his head and walked over to desk.

I had drawn a beautiful picture of my love.

The mask was perfect detail and her dress so beautiful.

I wrote out a little note on a piece of paper and folded it.

I stood up left my room and my dog followed me.

I walked to the woman's dressing room and opened the door.

"AHH!!" a scream came and I the girl of my dreams standing with the mask on hugging Mrs. Babney.

She made a break for the back of the room and I jumped at her grabbing her wrist.

"Wait I'm not here to take your mask off" I said and she stopped moving and looked at me.

Worry was in her eyes and she looked at Mrs. Babney as for help.

"I have a note I was going to give Mrs. Babney to give to you But now that your here I want to give it to you personally!" I said quickly.

"Then let go of my wrist Sir Daniel" she said and I handed her the note.

"Please don't call me that call me Daniel just Daniel" I said and she opened the letter reading it.

"You're having a ball" she said.

"Yes, and I'm inviting you to join"

she looked at the note again.

"Did Mrs. Babney ask you yet what I wanted her to ask you" I asked Her and she smiled.

"Yes"

"What is your answer please I need to know" I said and she looked at me.

"I will tell you at the ball" she said and she walked behind the changing curtain and disappeared.

I moved the curtain to see her but she was gone.
