Leaning on the railing of the boat and looking to the ocean, I bite my lip and ignore Saura as she goes on and on. The ocean reflects the stars and the moon, it looks so beautiful when the water ripples. Saura shakes my shoulder and forces me to look at her "So when did you start dating?"
"What?" I'm taken aback by her sudden outburst. I sigh, realising its Saura I'm talking to "See this is why I'll never be able to tell you these things" I bite my lip and turn back to the ocean, only to be pulled back again
"Oh c'mon, don't be such a grump. We're only young still, kind of. Let loose, have some fun"
"We're nineteen, Saura"

She rolls her eyes in an over exaggerated manner and leans on the railing, propping her head up with her hand, looking out to the ocean "Normal girls our age melt over boys, go shopping, gossip, party together and have fun" Saura grumpily mumbles
"Yes but we will never be normal, Saura. We have a duty to do, a world to help protect, there's no time for things like that when the world is in danger. Our fate is written out before us" I mimic Saura's position and stare at her, though she does not turn her head to meet my stare.

Saura lifts her head and gazes into the moon "I wonder what it's like to have a normal life, with a loving family, friends, a home, worrying only about trivial things"
"We're born into this life to serve and protect and there's nothing we can do to change that" I look to the stars and mentally connect the constellations "Besides, a normal life would be boring the life we are given is filled to the brim with thrill, suspense and adrenaline. I think we have the gifts of the dragons because we're the only people who can handle that rush"
Saura smiles and huffs "Gosh, you're so annoying but you make everything better"
"Wow thanks, Saura you're an amazing friend" I say with a monotone, intending for it to be sarcastic.

She laughs and nudges me with her elbow "I know. I'm possibly the most amazing person you'll ever meet in your whole life" Saura pulls a face and we giggle together. She sighs as she runs a hand through her hair that ombres from a dark purple to a dull peach colour and then a magenta. "But still" Saura trails off "Do you think we could do those things together some day? Just once, at least"

Our eyes meet "Anytime, as long as we have the time to waste"
Saura raises her eyebrows "Promise me"
"I promise we can pretend to be normal together" The midnight mist cloaks the ship. We hadn't taken a Jury ship, hadn't ridden the dragons, because we needed to be disguised. Saura actually got the ship for us, she's well known in Detlas and apparently anyone would do anything to help her.

"I'm going to go get some sleep" Saura finally says, after our long conversation on multiple subjects. I stay still, looking out to the ocean, unflinching. "Night, Amora" Saura turns on her heels and the ship replies to that with a creaking noise
"Night, Saura" I know my voice sounds detached and distant so I clear my throat, hoping Saura won't get suspicious of anything.

Now alone, I grip the railing tightly. My white hair appears to glow in the moonlight. I breathe in and out my nose, smelling the salty ocean. I pry my eyes from the ocean that only ripples every so often and glance up to Maverick, at the wheel, who mans the ship at night. Aaron was supposed to- always, mans the ship during night but he needs his sleep, as meeting with Lythinia can apparently be tiring. I'm not surprised, he forged almost the entire plan and it must be frustrating for him.

Despite Mav's presence I mumble a song. He didn't have any intent on listening to my conversation with Saura so I begin singing a different song, louder, so Mav can listen without needing to strain his ears.

"With a tiny rope and a bad of stones all heartbroken wishing bones she's going in, she's going home,
Oh this little golden eye, fighting heavy day behind the light, behind the light,
Walking faster down the street with eyes and no shoes on her feet,
Going on this journey, determined to complete, this is farewell, this is goodnight?
The last time she will see the daylight, see the daylight,
