Darkness

By Hanna Bolduc

Death is knocking at your door,

Time is frozen; it’s not time to look,

You’re alone no one’s there anymore.

We lock the door for it has now become a chore,

Hide in your tiny nook,

For death is knocking at your door.

This will never become a bore,

But watch out, for the lives death took,

Have left you alone no one’s there anymore.

Not named by words or looks anymore,

Grasping the threatening silver hook,

Now death is knocking at your door.

Lies in my head spreading to my core,

The greatest mistake has been mistook,

You’re alone no one’s there anymore.

His great reason will always be war,

Your actions forsook,

Death knocking at your door,

You’re alone no one’s there anymore.
