"Don't panic, Cindy. Everything will be fine, just don't panic." I watch my brother pacing back and forth, trying to think of a way to get the giant tree off my leg. I can easily tell he's never had this happen to someone on his team before by look panicked look in his eyes. "They're on their way, they'll get it off you." We've been lumberjacks for six years now and not one accident. Until now. I've been feeling sick today and a little dazed. A big tree was cut down and it landed on my left leg and arm. They've tried to push it off me but it's too big. He sent one of the men to get help. It's been over an hour and the pain's starting to get to me.

"Johnny," I said and he knelt next to me.

"Yeah, sis?" He moved some of my hair out of my face.

"Remember when we first met?" I asked and he nodded.

"In the woods," he said. "You were the skinniest thing I've ever seen." He smiled down at me. We're not related by blood, his parents took care of me since I couldn't remember who my real parent are. "Mom thought you were going to die if she didn't get some food in you." I nodded and closed my eyes.

"I'm tired," I breathed.

"No, don't you go to sleep." Too late.

(Twenty years earlier)

"Cindy, run!" I look at my mother and felt hot tears rolling down my cheeks. Her beautiful brown hair was ripped from her head, her white sundered replaced with nothing, and the many brushes and cuts all over her body. "Run, baby, run!" We heard a door slam and Mom gasped. "Go, quick and be quiet." I nodded. "What ever you do, don't come back here." She cupped my face with her hand. "I love you, honey." She kissed my forehead then helped into the small hole she managed to make in the wall. "Be safe." I heard her say before running into the woods as fast as I could. I ran for a long time before I collapsed from exhaustion. I laid there until I had the energy to get moving again. I walked for three days before I just laid on the ground. I laid there until I heard a stream near by. I pulled myself up and went to the sound of it. After rounding a tree, I saw it. Sweat water, sweat clear water. I fell to my knees and crawled the last ten feet. I fell on my stomach and stuck my head in the water. I drank until I needed air. I looked around and saw a small house. I walked over to it and smelt something delicious. I walked around the house until I found the source os the smell. A fresh apple pie was sitting on an open window ceil. My mouth watered at the sight of it and I made my way to it. I quickly grabbed it and yelped. The pan was very hot. I dropped it and it landed on the ground. Luckily not on the top. I knelt down and began eating, not caring that it was burning my mouth.

"Johnny, did you take my pie again?" I looked at the window and saw a red haired lady. "Oh my." I used my dress to grab the pie and ran back into the woods. I got a safe distance from there and ate the rest of the pie. When I was done, I took a nap in a hole in a tree.
