We don’t know who’s moving in next to us yet. My mom say’s she’s pretty happy about it though.

Amya’s mom: It’s been awhile since we seen some fresh faces around here
Amya:...
Amya’s Mom: Maybe we should go over and send them some housewarming gifts!
Amya:...

So, I guess you can say Angel’s theory have rubbed off on me quite a bit. Also that there is no way in hell I’m going to be tripping in a house that I know my best friend has stolen a pasta strainer from. It’s just sort of funny that I have something against the neighbors I haven’t met. Not that I’m saying I’m an open person and I usually meet other people, I’m actually really socially awkward. I guess it’s just that usually I wouldn’t care. Like if my mom was like, “Hey, Amya we’re gonna meet some new peeps.” I’d just be like, “...Okay.”

Like, I already know I’m not going to talk to anyone, so i’m not super excited or super upset.

Angel has been coming over lately, and it’s starting to bother me about how much she sneaks into the moving truck.

“They have some good stuff.” she tells me one afternoon as we sit on my room floor. She colors in one of my sketches as I sit criss crossed on my bed playing a video game.

“I don’t get why you’re so scared to come with me-”

“Uhm, maybe because we’re sneaking into the back of a strangers moving truck and if we get caught we’d probably go to jail or somebody’s paying a fine.”

She rolls her eyes and smirks while turning over on her back.

Angel: You’re probably wouldn’t be scared if you weren’t so clumsy.
Amya: I’m not clumsy.
Angel:Yes you are. Did you see the way you tripped up back there last time.
Amya: I didn’t trip up. It was apart of a plan-
Angel: A plan that required me to save your ass
Angel: You Didn’t save me- or, er- It was part of my plan
Angel: Pfttttttttttt sure
Amya: No really. I sort of predicted you were going to do that
Angel:Mhm.
Amya: If you don’t believe me then whatever but I-
Angel: I don’t believe you because I know you’re lying. I may be predictable some times, but you’re random, like what you did the other day, and since you’re random, I have to be random or else we’d both be dead.
Amya:...Or in jail….Anyway, I predicted you were going to carry me away from the van. And that’s what you did,
Angel: Alright Raven Symon.

I can’t believe she actually thinks we would’ve made it out that truck alive if I hadn’t thought of something beforehand. Actually, I sort of can. Angel’s sort of a numskull.

Angel: Did you see who’s moving in next door?
Amya: Figured you already did-
Angel: And have! You wouldn’t guess who’s moving in…
Amya…(looking at her) Oh! This is the part where I guess?
Angel: Yeah!
Amya: I don’t care.

She chuckles good heartedly and pushes herself from the floor, a smile beaming from ear to ear, and I don’t know if it’s just me but, I sort of see her cheeks go a little pink.

She opens the curtains so that we can see the truck across the street from us. Outside is a guy around our age, lugging some big boxes into the house. For a split second he smiles and the sunlight catches a glimpse of his twinkling blue eyes.

In a small voice i hear her mumble, “Can you say, charming dude with a guitar?”
