“Did you get the tickets?!” Jamie yelled, grabbing Ella in a headlock.
“YES I GOT THE FUCKING TICKETS! WE’RE GOING TO TOUR!!”
Tour. It was all any of us had been talking about for weeks, the rumours that there would be a tour, the confirmation of those rumours, the dates being released, the dates the tickets went on sale being released and finally the actual act of getting the tickets themselves.
“How many dates?” Hallie asked, barely able to control herself.
“Three,” Ella grinned at her.
“OH MY GOD! WE’RE GOING TO TOUR!” Jamie grabbed my jacket and yelled in my face.
“WE’RE GOING TO TOUR!” I screamed right back at her, I’d mastered the act perfectly, of the obsessed fan.
“There’s more...” Ella said, grinning from ear to ear.
“More?” Jamie said. I doubted she’d be able to physically cope with anymore.
“We have meet and greet passes for the first date.”
“We what?!” I said, stopping in my tracks.
“I KNOW!” Ella said, taking my shock for excitement.
“Oh, my, god.” Jamie said. “Oh my god Katie, did you hear that? DID YOU HEAR THAT?!”
“I heard it.” I said recovering, and grinning at her.
“We’re gonna meet them, ACTUALLY MEET THEM. Oh my god, do you think Tom will like me? Do you think I’ll be able to talk to him? I bet he’s fitter in person, oh my god. And Danny – Katie you’ll finally meet Danny! You can give him your twitter and, oh my god do you think he’ll sign me?”
“What part of you?” Ella asked grinning.
Jamie went quiet, then she looked at us, her eyes wide. “He signs people’s boobs doesn’t he?”
“He does.” I confirmed, mentally sliding back into the Katie they knew.
“Done.”
McFly. They were a band, a pretty good band, but my friends were obsessed with them. It wasn’t like a normal obsession though, they believed they knew them, they were in every thought Ella, Hallie and especially Jamie had, every sentence, everything. They loved McFly, and as far as they knew I did too. It was the glue that held us together, or rather it was the glue that held them together, and the glue I had to create.
The bell went, “Coming Katie?” Hallie asked nodding towards our form room. I followed her, I could feel her buzzing beside me.
“Three dates...” she muttered, “Three bloody dates Katie, and meet and greet...this is mental.”
“Mental.” I agreed.
“What’s up with you?” she raised an eyebrow.
“What do you mean?”
“You aren’t half as hyped up about this as I thought you’d be, you’ve been going on about tour for ages!”
“I am...” I said slowly, “But it’s a lot to take in Hal, I mean, this is TOUR.”
“Tour...” she said, pushing open the door to our form room and dumping her bags at our usual table at the back, “I don’t believe it, I can’t believe it.”
