"Dont get cocky, I was doing just fine without you" it's no surprise that Lucas was randomly sitting in your grandmas house with the rest of your family, he's always been close with everyone and since it's your grandmas birthday, he's most likely there to visit.

At this point, only your aunt Debbie is left in the room, the rest traveling out to help your father with the luggage and greet your brother.
"Oh really? Doing fine on everything but your fashion sense" You snicker, pulling on the hem of his red and yellow checkered shirt which, to be honest, was the ugliest shirt you've seen in a while. He slaps his hand over his heart and screws up his face as if he's in pain.
"oooh~ owch, that one hurt." He pouts, making you glare.

You two have always been alike and teasing eachother was something you'd participate in on a daily basis. The playful insults, playful fighting and getting eachother flustered was how you two got along so well. Nothing would be taken to heart, you knew how to talk to one another and arguments rarely occurred when the both of you had something to argue about
""Hey, I have something to show you" he flicks your forehead lightly while breaking the silence.
"Yeah? What is it?"
"Just follow me"
"And why should I~?"
"Just do it, idiot" he nudges your shoulder, laughing to himself as he starts to make his way out of the door and up the wooden stairs.

Without another word, you do as he says and start following him like a lost puppy, admiring the way his hands lay loosely in his jean pockets.
You get lost in thought as you check him out from behind; to be truly honest, his ass looked amazing in them jeans and the way his shirt clung to his back showed his muscles perfectly.

Being distracted, you stupidly walk into the back of him, gasping as you stumble the way you came.
"You know, maybe if you weren't so busy swooning over me, you'd be able to tell where you're going" he mumbles playfully, making you blush only a little.
Ignoring his comment, you look to the door in front of him, the same, copper letters nailed at the top of it spelling out your name. You smile remembering the day you got them, your older brother rick made them for you out of old parts from the chicken coop out back.
"And we're here why..?" You look up for an answer but get nothing but a small smile in reply as he reaches for the door handle.

A quiet gasp leaves your mouth as Lucas opens the door, the room being exactly how you remember it, the day you found out you were leaving. The array of barbies and action figures that you two would create stories with, the wooden trains you'd always fight over and your favourite, the small chalk board next to your baby blue bed that still shone with a rainbow of colours from the pictures you two drew.

"No one cleaned it..?" You ask, stepping in and sitting carefully on your bed. He follows behind, leaning against the wall "of course not, too many memorise to wipe clean. it was perfect the way it was... much like you" you feel butterfly's start to freak out in your stomach, gripping the edge of the bed to stop yourself from drowning in your own pool of childhood crush.

"We-" your grandma comes in, cutting you off as she looms over at you two "Lucas, (y/n)- the family are gonna take a walk up the farm, visit the horses for a bit... Are you two coming..?" The disappointment starts to build, being alone with Lucas the only thing you really want to do right now
"uh, we're good, bessy" he mumbles, grinning while glancing down at you.
"Ah, well, you two have fun. Make sure to catch up, I'm certain you both have a lot of talking to do. You know where we are if you need us" she leaves the room, closing the door behind her. You mentally high five yourself, now being home alone with the man of your.. well, dreams.. no, no. fantasies**.

"You know, (y/n), I've always been very fond of you.." heat builds up in your chest as you look up at him, raising an eyebrow.
"You made it pretty obvious, you don't have to tell me"
"Is that right? Well then, I'd be right to say that the way you were looking at me earlier tells me all I need to know"
Oh great, you're blushing again.
"And.. how was I lookin at you?" You cock your head to the side, watching as his grin grows wider.
"With admiration, want... need..."
the tension in the room becomes thick, the blush on your cheeks darkening in colour with each word
".. the way your cheeks heat up when I get close only gives it away more and I don't mind it one bit" Lucas has definitely changed now that no ones here.. you sigh, getting lost in his eyes
"you know, I've always had a thing for you (y/n) and I can tell you Defiantly have a thing for me to" he gazes over to the window, watching the family's drive down the dirt road in three seperate trucks.

Taking his opportunity, he sits down besides you, Delicately holding your chin to make you look at him. Without a single word, he slowly leans in, giving you enough time to stop him if you want. Did you want him to stop, though? Nah. You move forward to meet him in the middle, fireworks lighting up inside you as finally, after 16 years, your lips touch in pure romance.. well lust at least.
