Last year, I had just moved here; here being Laguna Beach, California. I moved here and got into school. I had got into honors biology, and there was a group of girls sitting in the back corner of the room.
Four of them came up to talk to me. "Hey, you must be the new girl. My name's Megan, what's yours?"
"Hey, my name's Jenna." I said shyly.
"Don't be afraid, we don't bite, ha." Megan had said. "This is Leah, Maddie, and Taylore."
"Hey, welcome to Laguna High." They said continously.
"Would you like to hang out with us after school?" Megan had asked.
"Sure, when?" I asked surprised.
"Meet us out front by the entrance, and look for us at lunch." Leah said.
I was very surprised by their offer to hang out. The new girl was usually uninvited, right? Well, I was happy that I had made it into a group of friends.
I had came into the popular group, I guess. Everybody looks admirably at them, but why them? Is there something special about them? Well yeah, they're beautiful, and they seem inviting, but will they be true friends or the fake ones like in all those movies? I guess I'll find out soon enough.
I had got to second period and everyone seemed interested from where I from, and why I had moved. I didn't understand, no one at any other school payed attention to me like this. I felt special, but it's sad to know this won't last.
I had got to lunch perfectly fine. I bought my lunch and found the table me new friends were sitting at. There was more people there, but I couldn't remember any of their names. I had sat down, knowing that I would have to get used to being here, even if it may not be for long.
You see, my dad's job makes him move all over the United States. That's what brought us from Montana to Calfiornia. It sucks not getting to stay in one place for all of your childhood, but I meet a great deal of people that I'll never forget.
All the talk at lunch was about "the new girl". People couldn't keep their eyes off of me, especially this guy, Tony. I guess he's the most popular guy in school, the captain of the football team, "the ladies man." I was told not to mess with him because he's a "heart breaker."
I just couldn't believe he was interested in me, that's unimaginable. The thought of it made me smile. He had asked me for my number, I had gladly given it to him.
"Girl, why did you give him your number?" Megan had asked. "You were told he's trouble!"
"I'm sorry, It's just, no guys ever been interested in me." I said.
Seemingly shocked, Leah said, "Never been interested in you? Really, wow that's unusual."
"Ha, why?" I asked.
"You're beautiful!" Taylore said cheerfully.
"Really, you think so?" I started to blush.
"Yes, definitely!" Maddie added.
"Hey, where is the nearest mall?" I asked.
"About three miles from the school, why?" Leah asked.
"I need to do some shopping and my dad gave me his credit card." I said.
All their faces lit up, "You want us to go to the mall with you?"
I could tell they got excited by the tones of their voices and the looks on their faces. After school, we got to my car.
"You have a mustang?" Leah said surprised.
"Yeah, don't you?" I asked.
"Haha, no. I have a jeep." Leah said.
"Well, let's go to the mall!" I said. We got to the mall and I got a great deal of new clothes, some jewlery, a new pair of shoes, and a new iPhone.
I came to two worried sick parents. "Where have you been?" My mother yelled.
"What, dad told me I was allowed to go to the mall." I said.
"Oh yeah, I did." Dad said.
"God." I ran up to my room with all my bags.
I go into my room, slammed the door, and fell onto my bed. I checked my phone, there was one text message, it was from Tony. My face had lit up, and I what I had read made my night ten times better.
The text said, "Hey, it's Tony. And I wanted to know if you wanted to hang out sometime?"
I added him into my phone and texted him back. "Hey, I'd love to hangout. Want to go to the beach tomorrow after school?"
"Sure, we'll go at three o'clock."
"Okay, see you tomorrow." I texted him back.
I put everything away before I got into bed. The thoughts about tomorrow put a smile on my face. WAIT, I need to get a new bathing suit!
I woke up the next morning, and I quickly hopped in the shower and changed. I made sure I looked really good before I left the house.
I step outside and it's like "DAMN, it's hot outside!" I checked the temperature in my car. 96 degrees! It never passed 78 in Montana! I put the roof down, and speeded off towards school.
I got to school and met up with Megan. The day just wouldn't go fast enough; it felt like forever! It was finally three o'clock, so I met Tony at the school entrance.
