Chapter 1

My life, doesn't start when the story get's good. When everything seems cheery and perfect! It doesn't start when I meet this famous baseball player or get the job of my dreams. No REAL story does. REAL stories, they start at the beginning. And that, is where I'm going to begin.

I'll warn you now! My story, it's not all rainbows and unicorns. It's not all happy things. It's hardships. It's a hard running! There were times I didn't want to keep going. Times I didn't think I could go any further. But, I did. I did so I could live to tell the story.

My story will start in August 2006 when I moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL at the bright age of 16. It was right after my parents got divorced. My father had remarried within 2 months of the papers being signed creating a bad reputation for my mother, pushing her out of our small town in Georgia. We moved into this small, 2 bedroom brick townhouse on a quiet street. I remember pulling onto the street and a huddle of boys, roughly my age, paused their game of baseball and scurried to the sides of the street. When my mother and I pulled into our short driveway that led to the old, worn down garage, the boys all looked at us, wondering what new person they could recruit.

When I got out of the car, my mother cleared her throat as my attention was drawn to the boys.

"What?" I laughed slightly, opening the back door of the car, grabbing an old cardboard box that held old pictures of my brother and I.

"Carson, put the box down!" She smiled brightly, as I watched her walk from the car, down the stone paved pathway to the front porch of our new house.

"Why?" I gulped, slowly placing the box on the grass.

"Go make friends! Be a kid for once! We came here for a fresh start, and you deserve it! Go!" She looked at me, her bright green eyes were bright as I just raised an eyebrow at the odd behavior.

"Mom, are you sure?" I crossed my arms and she nodded.

"Carson Alexander Daley, get down there before I change my mind!" She pointed to the street and a large smile started to form.

"Thank you!" I laughed, smiling brightly. "Thank you!" I jumped, running down our driveway to the huddle of boys.

"Do you know how to play baseball?" A tall boy, with tan skin, and narrow eyes that were studying me intensely, sighed and I nodded.

"I think I know the basics!" I smirked softly and he nodded.

"You're on Ants team." He hissed, pointing to an even taller boy with sun kissed skin and dark yet extremely bright eyes "What's your name?" The boy clapped and I cleared my throat.

"Carson!" I smiled gently and he nodded.

"I'm Alex, thats Ben, Frank, James, and Corey. We're one team. Your team has Anthony, Gerry, Colin, Thomas, and yourself!" He sighed and I nodded, my heart pounding at a rapid speed as I stood before 9 extremely attractive and athletic boys.
