A girl sat on her dusty bed staring at through the unclear window.
I wish I could've went, there'll be nothing left.
She got in trouble the day before, and her punishment was to watch as her brother got to pick his first Pokémon. She moaned as she heard footsteps going up the steps. Her brother burst in blabbing about his new Pokémon.
"Look it's a cyndaquill!"
The girl moaned once more, then put her pillow over her ears to block out the sound. Her brother soon left, the moments later another voice echoed up the long stairway.
"Honey! You can get out of your room now!"
The girl tumbled out of her bed and rushed down the stairs, knocking over a chair on the nice kitchen table. Her mother shot her a dirty glance, so she immediately picked it up. She grabbed her bag and rushed out the door. She ran next door and burst through the lab doors.
"What! There's only one left!"
"Well, there was a bit of an incident. Heh, um, well... one of my dear Pokémon were stolen.."
"What!"
The girl was no longer as excited, but angry and wanted revenge on whoever took the Pokémon.
"But there's still one left, heh."
She ran over and grabbed the Pokémon.
"Well, what is it-?"
"A Chikorita, dear, the grass type."
She let the Pokémon out of the Pokémon and began to take footsteps out the door.
"Wait! Take this and this."
The professor gave her two items which she shoved into her back.
"It's a pokedex and a map, have a great adventure."
"Thanks Professor Elm!
The girl rushed out the door and to her surprise her brother was battling an unknown trainer.
"Gol-"
"Gah! How'd I lose!" The unknown trainer yelled.
"Well maybe if you actually attacked me instead of-"
"I don't need your bragging! I'll become a better trainer than you'll ever be!" And with that, he stormed off.
"Who was that-?"
"Never mind that. Anyways mom was looking for you."
The boy rushed off, leaving the girl in the dust. The girl opened the door to see her mom holding a small box.
"Honey! I got you some running shoes!"
The girl slid on the running shoes and opened the door.
"Wait! Take these as well, you don't want Gold to get ahead of you now do you.."
The girl eagerly took what her mom had to offer, two potions.
"Thanks! Love you!"
The girl rushed out the door and began her grand adventure.

A small sign read: Cherrygrove City, Population 22. It seemed to have almost fallen over due to the heavy wind, so the girl pushed it back into place.
"Aha, you must be Crystal." An old voice rang.
Crystal turned around to face the man.
"Let me show you around, there's so much to see. This here is the Pokémon Center where-"
"Listen, I really have no time for this, can I please continue."
"Well young lady, you do whatever." He grunted adding 'little brat' under his breathe.
Crystal bolted into the grass where she bumped into a small Pokémon. To her surprise it continued to ascend upward in its large striped tail.
"It's a sentret!" She squealed whipping out a pokeball.
She threw the pokeball at the ground a her small green Pokémon appeared.
"Chickorita! Use tackle!"
The chickorita rammed into the sentret knocking it to the ground. Crystal threw and empty pokeball and caught it first try.
"Aha!"
"Humph, you finally caught something. How about a battle eh." A boy walked out from behind a tree, tossing a pokeball in his hand. He had a eager smirk across his face, and a cold look in his eyes.
"You're the boy from earlier! My brother battled you!"
"That pathetic weakling is your brother, for shame.. Let's see if you're better than him how about it."
"Ugh fine, but only because you insulted my brother you creep."
The two battled, the other boy being victorious. Crystal stormed off, fuming and found a place to sleep in the next city, Violet City.
