Scarlett's POV
Saturday morning
I wake up peacefully. The birds were chirping, and I woke up smiling, just like in the movies. I got up and did my morning routine. Stepping out the room, I noticed something weird. The house was silent. The house is never silence on a Saturday. I walked down the stairs slowly, incase Zach was downstairs. He was not. Looking back up to his room, the door was still closed. Was he still sleeping? I shrugged and walked to the kitchen for some yogurt. On the fridge was a note.Mom and Dad are out to take care of some business. Will be back soon. Love you
I grabbed my yogurt and sat down on the couch. Before I could take my first bite, my phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey Scarlett" Shivers ran through my spine.
"Hey Jake"
"What you up to?"
"Just eating yogurt"
"Are you busy today?"
"Um nope"
"Would you like to go watch a movie?" I thought about it. Is he taking me on a date?
"I guess" I thought about the last time we went to a movie. I guess movies were our thing.
"Great! I'm almost at your house. Maybe in 10 minutes? I can't wait." I can hear the excitement in his voice as he hung up. Wait, did he say 10 minutes. Looking down at myself, I was not presentable at all. Messy hair, stained shirt, worn out shorts. I put down my yogurt and ran upstairs, digging through my closet for something nice. Hmm a movie, it's usually cold. Should I wear something warm?
No! Wear something thinner so he can have an excuse to wrap his arms around us!
I rolled my eyes at Shay. I grabbed a crop tee and a cardigan. I brushed my hair with my hands as I looked at the time. He should be here any minute. I heard the bell ring. Crap. I grabbed my phone, keys and wallet, and ran down the stairs. I looked at the mirror before opening the door.
There he was, in a casual t-shirt and jeans. Yet he still looked nice. I bet he'd make a garbage bag look nice. Shay purred, picturing him. I shook my head, dismissing the thought.
"You okay?" Did he just see all that....?
"Uhhh yup. Let's go." He led me to his car and opened the door for me. The car ride was silent, but not awkward silent. We arrived in 15 minutes. There wasn't a lot of people, which was a shocker. Walking in, I was overwhelmed by the amount of advertisements that were displayed.
"What should we watch?" Jake looked as puzzled as I was.
"Ummmm" I looked at the showtimes. "Oh! Let's watch Moana!" I smiled like a big kid, which I feel like I still am. "If you want to that is." He smiled and nodded.
"Sure, let's go." We bought tickets and food. Large popcorn and fries, yum. The movie started and I was immediately drawn in. Baby Moana is so adorable!!! Halfway during the movie, I sneezed. Thankfully, it was a quiet sneeze.
I hope Jake puts his arm around us.
Shay!
I snapped out of it when I felt Jake move, doing the cheesy stretching move. Still, I froze as his arm made his way around me. I peeked over at him. He seemed perfectly normal. Was I the only one freaking out right now? After awhile, I turned my attention back to the movie, letting myself relax in his embrace. Very warm indeed.
30 minutes later...
I groaned as I got up and stretched. That was such a good movie. Walking out, Jake casually grabbed my hand.
