Mate? Or Mates?

I wake up pressed against someone then my boyfriend pops in my head “aww he snuck in to lay with me last night” i thought so i turned around and buried my face in his chest ignoring that he smells different “i love you so much Aaron i had a terrible dream” suddenly he pushes me away and i sit up and look at him realizing that it’s Ben from my dream and realizing that it wasn't a dream but Ben looks hurt “who's Aaron?” he asks with enough venom to make me flinch “ he’s my boyfriend of 3 years and he makes me feel better and happier THAN YOU EVER WILL” i say slowly raising my voice he grabs me by my throat his claws slowly sink into my skin i feel them break skin but i try not to show any signs of pain “ you’re right i'll never make you happy like he did but…” he leans in to my ear loosening his grip slightly “i could definitely make you feel better” he says nibbling on my ear i twitch slightly but don’t stop him he removes his hand from my neck and replaces it with his mouth “it would be so easy to mark you right now...to make you mine” i feel a strange pull from inside me that i chose to ignore. Like the feeling i pushed Ben away. “Please leave me alone” i say sheepishly “just let me stay here a bit longer” i think of something to get me away from the situation. “I'm hungry like really hungry” “ooh ok i made dinner” he says excitingly and hops off the bed dragging me out the door down the hall and into the kitchen where i smelled pork chops “mmm something smells good” i said “here you go” james said handing me a plate with pork chops and alfredo while winking at me “oh thank you” i said as i gobbled down my food.
They all laugh at me. I smile “what?” i say with food in my mouth “y’all haven't fed me in like two days” i finish my food and walk into the living room and pop in ‘Marley And Me’ “what are you doing” clay asks “i’m gonna make the big bad alpha cry” i say as i smirk. Ben grabs me from around the waist and pulls me onto his lap where hesitantly i curl up. James shakes his head with a frown and walks out of the room i look at clay as mat gets up but clay stops him “i'll take care of that later” we sit and watch the movie i'm not entirely sure what happened but i woke up to clay sobbing “why did you make me watch this movie?!?!? why?!?! this is worse than the titanic and the notebook combined!! why hailey?!?!” i laugh but comfort him and bring him into my arms he suddenly pushes me back “BEN GET THAT ANIMAL A SHOWER!!!” clay yells and Ben laughs “alright come on goober” Ben says and i smile at the nickname “goober?” he blushes “that's your nickname “ he says handing me clothes and two towels “don't be too long “ he says shutting the door i quickly take a shower dressing in only a shirt and pannies “pants and bras are overrated anyway” i say to myself as i step out of the bathroom. Ben looks at me very surprised i lay next to him leaving distance between us. He leans over and kisses my neck and i shiver he continues for a second until he climbs on top of me. “Do you want to-you know?” he asks i shake my head “no it’s far too soon plus i only was nice because i got my favorite food. I still don’t trust any of you” he looks slightly hurt but says ¨goodnight i'll see you tomorrow” and rolls over i do the same and drifts off into sweet slumber.
When i wake up i'm alone so i quickly run my hands through my hair and throw some jeans on that nearly fit me perfectly. I look in the mirror and whisper to myself “i think i’m gonna go explore” i look in the closet and realize its full of my shoes and clothes i grab a pair of hiking boots and head towards the front door as soon as i open it it gets slammed shut james grabs me by my throat and pushes me against the wall. “Where do you think you’re going cutie? Trying to escape already?” he loosens his grip so i can talk “i just wanted to go exploring” i say scared and he smirks “it's ok honey but you can't go alone but come up to my room and we can talk” i feel suspicious at the sudden change of his tone from rude to sickly sweet but followed him anyway “this is my room i know its kinda dark but i like it” his room is red and black the light from outside is being held back by red and black swirl curtains i go and sit quietly on the edge of his bed and he sits next to me “do you like it? Is it too dark in here for your human eyes?” james gets up “here i’ll light some candles”
i couldn't help but realize the slight romance in the air as he lit the candles and looks over at me “do you wanna cuddle?” he says laying down and sticking his arms out i notice a weird triangle mark on the inside of his bicep that i also saw on Ben earlier so i scoot close to him and trace my fingers over it and he shivers “what is this? Is it burned in?” i see something grow in his eyes not quite sure i like it but i stay and he answers with a smile “its our pack mark they brand us when we join. touching it resembles eternal loyalty, kissing it is a promise to be forever theirs, and biting it is a sense of ownership it bonds two people. Just like how we show loyalty promise or ownership is right here between the neck and shoulder.” he says as he puts his lips to it and kiss it i shiver and feel the same pull i had with Ben i feel his head go up and hear what i believe to be his teeth growing i sit up quickly and start to take off my boots “don't you have to have my permission to mark me?” he shrugs “morally yes but in reality if i mark you it doesn't matter if you want it or not you'll feel the bond within a few days and all we have to do to finish the ritual is mate” he says running his hand over my neck and then kissing it the pull becomes stronger and i lean into it he starts nibbling “do you want it?” i start to stutter “i-i-” Ben bursts in and yells “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! SHE'S SUPPOSED TO BE MY MATE” matt comes in and takes me and the last thing i hear from the room is “WHAT IF I WANT HER TOO” he walks me to his room which is all different shades of green “i have something to tell you” his country accent wavers slightly.
He sits down on a green bean bag and i sit down on a turquoise one across from him “you weren't brought here for entertainment you were brought here to be a mate to one of us. we all felt that pull towards you meaning you could be any of our mates it just matters on how you feel. Have you felt that pull with any of us?” i nod he gulps loudly “so far James and Ben- it got really strong when james tried to mark me but with Ben it was faint” he stands up quickly and i follow “HE TRIED TO MARK YOU?!?!” i nod and he comes close enough for me to smell him he searches my neck to make sure there's nothing there i reach up and brush my finger over his mark and suddenly he grabs me and throws me on the bed “ do you know what that means?” he asks calmly i nod “james explained everything to me” he smiles lightly and the pull appeared for him too “why would you want to be loyal to me?” i look up at him and he sits next to me “because i trust you and i feel the pull with you too and i don't know what that means but i wanna test something” i force him to put his head in the crook of my neck he brushes his hand over it and kisses it and starts to nibble the same thing that happened with james happened but slightly stronger my body and voice betrayed me as i lean into him and whisper “mark me i want you” he sits up and smiles and i feel a tinge of disappointment “you don't want that youre saying that because of the pull at the end of the day it has to be you asking not your instincts” he kisses me and the rest of the pack walks in.
“we need to talk” clay says grabbing me by the hand and standing me up “the first one to mark her without her hearts permission will be put in the trials after fasting for a weak do you understand” clay wraps his arm around my waist and there it was again that stupid pull i scream and run i get out the front door this time and i run into the woods i run and run and run till my feet can't take it anymore i find a stream nearby with a small cave in the center i check for creatures and climb in hiding from the boys “i can't go back now” i think to myself i hear someone walking and hear a voice which i believe to be clay “i can smell her she has to be close” i try to push back as far as the cave would let me and accidentally broke something off and it made a loud snap i see clay's face and he squints “i see something in here get james it's too dark for me to see” james appears and i see his eyes turn bright red and look in the cave as i flatten myself against the back of the cave he climbs in but i'm just out of reach “oh come on darling dont be that way” i spit in his face and grab some rocks and start throwing them at him until he climbs out of the cave “ guess we gotta get matt in there” matt suddenly appearing with a flashlight climbs down and looks at me and mouths sorry and i see his eyes turn green and he stares deep into my eyes “crawl towards me and as soon as you get out of the cave go to sleep” i crawl towards him even though my brain tells me not to my body complies and just like he said as soon as i get out of the cave i fall asleep.
