I had my little soldier right beside me as I slept. I pulled her close as she shifted a little. I woke up as I heard her whimper. I saw her tiny body curled up. Suddenly she screamed. I shook her awake. She woke up with tears in her eyes. I picked her up and rocked her as if she were a baby. She probably had a nightmare. She was crying really bad, poor thing. I kissed her head and hummed softly. She calmed down after awhile. I sat down on the bed, still holding her. "Did you have a bad dream?" I asked. She nodded. "Do you wanna talk about it?" I asked again. "o-ok..." She stuttered. I pulled her closer and let her talk. "d-daddy w-was drunk... and h-he...-" she burst out crying again. I shushed her. "It's ok... You don't need to say anything that makes you uncomfortable..." I kept rocking her slowly until she was asleep again. What happened to her? I mean, I know her dad hit her but what else could he have done to her. I decided that we should do some councilling.
--one week later--
I took Y/n to a counsellor who specialised with children who were abused. I carried my little soldier inside and took her to the meeting room. The woman had a friendly smile. "Hello there. My name is Jenny. Is this Y/n?" I nodded. She smiled at my little soldier and I put her down. She hugged my leg. "It's ok little soldier. She's not gonna hurt you." I told her. After about 2 minutes, Y/n calmed down. She sat beside me during the session. "So you adopted her a week ago, right?" I nodded. I looked at Y/n. She looked tired. After a few minutes, we got to talking about what her dad did to her. Y/n looked down, afraid. Jenny talked to her a bit. (TRIGGER WARNING) Jenny frowned. "Honey... Did he... Touch you, at all?" Y/n's eyes went wide. She nodded. No. Not my little soldier! "Where did he touch you, sweetie?" She frowned and looked down. "I see..." She wrote it down. I saw Y/n about to cry. I picked her up and let her cry. "I think it's time to go home..." I said. Jenny nodded. "Thank You for coming. Go home and rest." I carried my little soldier home. Once we got home, I sat her beside me. "I'm so sorry my little soldier..." I whispered. She was clinging on to me, crying. "Sh sh sh... Rest my little soldier... It's gonna be ok..." I whispered. If ANYONE DARED to hurt my little soldier, I would hurt them really badly. I looked at Y/n as she fell asleep, shaking. I tucked her in and rubbed her hand. My sweet, innocent little soldier... She's only 9... I picked her up and rocked her in my arms. She needed me... My poor little soldier... So young and broken...
