My alarm clock goes off on my phone as I am in the bathroom already getting ready for school. I always get ready early on the first day of school. I have my friends and new classes and it's just so exciting.

I put on my other shoe then head downstairs to see my dad making breakfast and I tell him good morning. My mom died because of lung cancer and ever since my dad's been depressed.
I go and eat my breakfast and then head out to see my two best friends waiting for me outside.
"Lore'al I'm so happy to see you," Bea said.
"So am I," Anái said.
"I'm happy to see you guys too," I said.

We pull up to the school and I look around and smile. My friends and I head to the main building of the school.
We walked in and I fell because my shoes were untied and before I know it a boy comes and helps me up and I say thanks he says the pleasure is all mine.
"My name is Malík têal
what's your name?" He said.
"My name is Lore'al,'' I said.
"That's a nice name how old are you?'' He asked.
"I'm 15 how about u?" I asked.
"I'm about to turn 16 but I gotta go so I'll see you around bye,"he said.
"Bye," I said.

We were in 1st period and I don't see Bea or Anái in my class but I do see Malík and he signals me to take the seat next to him. I head towards the seat and as soon as I was about to sit a white girl with blonde short hair says "excuse me."
"Your excused," I say.
"No I mean your in my seat," she addressed.
"Well go find another one cuz I was here first," I say. Then she walks off sassy and I turn around to see malík smiling at me.
