I never did think that my best friend and I would separate so much after she found her mate, Dyanah moved in with Antonio after three months of knowing each other . She also stopped coming over so much and we only hung out if the Alpha of Antonio's pack come to visit. I missed the times when we would crank call our teacher's and place our bras in the freezer, but MOST of all I miss our before birthday ritual which we always spent together. That's all over now though . So here I am the night before the big 17, sitting alone in my room listening to " Come On Over" by Christina Aguilera while trying to figure out what to pack for our trip to Lake Compounce. Oddly Enough this year our Summer bus trip lands on my birthday. I honestly don't care that it lands on my birthday I just want to see my best friend again. I just hope that Antonio doesn't get in the way because I'd love to have a little girl talk with Dyanah.
The Next Day--
I woke up to all of my family yelling in my face and icing all over my comforter, as various voices spoke at once "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOK! " my baby sister said "WHEN YOU MOVE OUT CAN I HAVE YOUR ROOM" my sister said (she has a twin) " OH MY BABY, MY FIRST BORN YOUR GOING TO MEET YOUR MATE TODAY! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!" my mother said as a million growls filled my room which of course came from my oh so loving, over protective, over baring father. "OH SHUT UP KADE" and that would be my miraculous mother once again. My younger brother must have thought this would be a great time to intrude " Damn Brook your look like a train wreck" my brother Kyle said ( my sister kylie's twin) "Watch your mouth young man" my mother speaks again and then simultaneously my whole family thought it'd be a great time to reiterate the fact that it's my birthday " HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOK! " .
For some reason my wolf was all jumpy and energized which made me all bubbly on the inside and I don't know why. " Honey has wolf said anything yet? , You okay? , Are you excited about meeting your mate today? " Bingo! that was it my wolf was sensing that today we would me our mate. Some people have to wait but luckily for me I don't. "Yeah mom It's the mate thingy" " This is so exciting!" my mom said giggling, clapping and jumping up and down all at the same time. She is great at being multitasked . " Mom you should stop jumping there is a baby in there ya know" I said standing up and patting her swollen belly softly. " Ok thanks everyone for the wake up call but I need to get dressed so please leave the premises of my room. Oh and Dad I should be ready in a little over 30 minuets." I ran to my shower and washed thoroughly scrubbing my scalp and washing my feet as if my life depended on it .
Afterwards I grabbed some high wasted shorts and I Tee- shirt that I had cut and put safety pins through. I brushed my brown borderline blonde locks and left then down only parting my hair with my fingers and throwing on some black shades. No make up today because I am going to a water park it would wash right off and looking like the Goth version of a clown was not on my list of things to do today. Grabbing my bag and running outside to my dads car I say goodbye to everyone I get in the car and my father and I set off to the meeting dock of the bus trip. These bus trips are like a quickie summer get away for me and Dyanah and luckily this time Antonio's older brother is in charge of driving and manning the bus this year.
At the meeting dock-
My Dad safely pulls over to the meeting dock where I see a few other people with their bags " Have fun today Brooklyn and if anything call and I'll come pick you up okay, and if by any chance you do meet your mate just know that I will castrate him if he rejects you" My father reprimands " yes Daddy" I reply " oh and you forgetting something" I say " Oh yeah" my Dad says he leans over to give me hug as I put up my hand to stop him and then put my other hand out " I swear you kids think I'm a bank" my Dad mumbles as he reaches in his pocket for his wallet he pulls it out looking for cash but there aren't any but I see a lot of cards so a grab one. "Thanks Daddy" I squeak as I kiss my dad on the check and hop out of the car " I love you " I say " Is that the only reason you love me because I give you money?" he questions " No that's not the only reason why .... I love you because you intimidate all of the ugly boys and scare them away with all of your broad manliness" I say buttering my father up. " I'm only here to do my job " He says " have fun" he yells as I run towards everyone else at the seating area. Looking around for Dyanah shouldn't be that hard I'll just look for every girl here with a guys tongue shoved down her throat.
Ah Ha there she is! I'm walking towards her when I feel like I've bumped into a brick wall ..... but brick walls don't have sparks all over them right? looking up I see a pair of memorizing baby blues looking back at me and then it hits me the most amazing scent ever its like caramel, and vanilla it smells amazing. Warmth wraps around me and its like all of my insides are alive. I feel so close to being on the brink of something amazing and then if finally clicks that feeling of being complete this guy is my ... MATE! my wolf and I think simultaneously.
" Hey Brook!" I hear Dyanah's voice shout I look behind baby blues ( what I have decided to call my mate ) " Hey Yana" I say back as she and Antonio walk over to me and baby blues " I see you've met - " Dyanah starts " Alright kids on the bus!" Antonio's older brother Nick say's while climbing on to the bus and holding his mate Michelle's hand.
We all board the bus and I'm in my own train of thought basically my own world when Dyanah plops down next to me on the bus. Then Antonio and Baby Blues decide to sit across from us . Going into there own conversation. Oh boy this is going to be a long ride.......
