Armor clanged, swords clattered, hitting each other in a near perfect rhythm, screams for mercy were heard, mostly from servants and women who were still in the kingdom.
Sighing, Nina walked around the battlefield, the King, and Queen long dead from the the initial storming from the army. They were there to get the princess, there was no other reason for being there, but it is still good to have extra servants.
He walked through the the door of the castle, cutting down any knight trying to stop him from leaving with the Princess, who was screaming, and crying. She never knew why he wanted the princess, there were plenty of women in their side of the country, all who were very willing to give themselves to him.
She sighed as she turned around to leave with the Emperor, when she would get home the Princess will be kept in the closest room to him, and watched 24/7.
She hated the plan, she felt like there was no need for it, but she could not go against him. She knew this, it was a fact, she was his right hand, his knight, nothing more.Eventually the princess started to become exhausted from her actions. She looked at the princess, who's crying died down to a dull sobbing.
She knew it was going to be a long ride home, she never did like traveling around like this, but she never complained.Hours had passed as they continued their march back, one of the greatest of the kingdom's in this world had now been destroyed, the king, and his queen dead, their princess as their prisoner.
"Nina,"The Emperor called her,"Have the Princess ride with you for now."
She nodded at the deep voice who ordered her, taking the princess in her arms, the girl look tired from the energy she waisted from her tantrums.
They continued onward, into the darkest areas of their lands.Long ago had these lands been bright, colorful, and sweet, when the world was young. It had been beautiful, but then others came, and tried to calm the land for themselves. She remembered it so well, how those who call themselves knights of Light, came and enslaved her people.
She was a child, when they struck at her with whips, when they yelled at her to keep working, even when her hands would bleed, her feet go numb, and her eyes weighed on her for sleep. Others, like the older girls, and the women had it worse, some would gain favor, which gave them power to not be put to work. Some even got lucky and were married, gaining prosperity, and being able to save their families from enslavement. Then the Dark Emperor came, and freed them from their oppressors, he gave them kindness and mercy. He cared, and loved them.
She had known him for a few hours, but it felt like her whole life she was meant to be by his side, not as a queen, but as a knight. His knight, the Dark Knight, and she would be his knight, following him into battle, where ever it may take her, she would always follow him.
