Chapter 5: The Lucky Cat

           "Um......did you guys heard anything?" Natsume asks with a slight fear on his face.
          Murasaki sees his fear and purses his lips, and thinks :' Crap,she's here!'
          The other three look at him with doubt, question marks filled their mind.
          Luckily, the ringing bells helps Natsume gets out of the awkward . Natsume's mind sinks to thousand of thoughts during the class (for short is daydreaming) not until he wakes up by the Nishimura's calling.
          Natsume feels the presence of a youkai after he stepped out of his school. He immediately turns his head, a youkai with a large eye, white-coloured hair and a body of purple says with the vicious sound of his. "Reiko......Reiko.......give......give me back......my....nam-"
          Not waiting for the youkai to finished its words, Natsume runs like he always does when he was moved to different relatives.
          He can uses his slender body to run though the forest but he still can't get the youkai off him. The youkai seems like a very stubborn one.
          Natsume forgets Murasaki completely, forgets about getting back his home. His golden orbs shines seriousness , concentrating on finding a shrine which is in the forest. If you use a bottle and fill up his sweat, it will be more than the water he drank this whole day.
          He keeps on running not until he bumps into someone and ends up Natsume fells onto the floor.
"Eh? Natsume?" Nishimura and Kitamoto ask simultaneously. They are on their way home then Natsume runs into Nishimura.
          After Natsume sees that it is someone he knew, he immediately asks them about a shrine.
Kitomoto points a direction to him and he rushes to the direction.
          "Hey, what happened? He looks like he is chase by something." Nishimura says after Natsume left.
          Guess what? They're right. After a second, a strong wind rustles by, it's like what they say, there is "something" chasing Natsume.
          If the grass can talk , they mostly will protest :"Hey , look, that golden hair just stepped on us very hard!!!" While the molds on the rocks will gloat over them:" Good thing we live on the rocks."
          Unknowingly, another youkai appears beside it and mutters something to it.
          When the white-haired youkai finally catches Natsume, it smacks Natsume to a tree with a hand.                                                        The youkai stares Natsume with its scary eye, cold words that comes out from its mouth surround  Natsume.
          "You're just a merely human, don't ever think wild that you can control youkais. Hand me the 'Book of Friends'!"
          That shocks Natsume because he don't even know what is the 'Book of Friends' is about.
          The partner of the youkai says to the purple youkai:" Quick! Pull out his tongue so that he have no chance to order you!"
          Natsume gathers all his strength onto his right hand and gives the youkai a punch, successfully escapes from the claws.
          Natsume takes up his feet and runs to the shrine. He doesn't notice about the ropes in front of him and trips by it.He lands with his face on the grass.
          "Ah! Finally, the enchantment was broke!" The door of the small shrine opens. Unexpectedly, a orange-grey  lucky cat .(A/n:that is what we called in Chinese,sorry if I am wrong.)
          ' A cat can speak? Maybe it's a youkai? Whatever, first off, let me laugh for a while.' Natsume thought before he laugh like a maniac, he doesn't even bother to get stares from the "cat".
          The cat walks out from the shrine "gracefully", raises its head and sniffs in the air.
          "Are you Natsume Reiko?"
          Not waiting for Natsume's reply, he continues, :"Nope. If I watch closely, you're a male while Reiko is a female."
          Natsume says:" Reiko? Ah, she was my grandmother but she had passed away."
          The cat suddenly shows a yearning expression. "Grandmother,huh? Then,do you know anything about the "Book of Friends"?"
          Natsume thinks :"Hm......I remember there's something like this among my grandmother's relic." Natsume turns his head around , the cat disappeared.
