A dark green glow seemed to emanate under the rickety old door at the end of the pitch black hallway. My sister's room has always terrified me and of course I had to be the one to get her for dinner. "Zoey" I called out as I knocked softly. No answer, of course she never really talked much especially to me. I just don't get it we use to get along so better than this. Becoming more impatient I opened the door only to be greeted by a sour smell almost like spoiled milk. I turned on the lights to see all of her books scattered on the floor, the curtains shut tight, a giant pot filled with who knows what, and under her midnight blanket was the dark green glow but that isn't the worst part the blanket was slowly raising  like...breathing. I pulled back the cover, for a moment I didn't understand what I was looking at, it almost looked like a sleeping child that came out of a Frankenstein horror movie. Instantly I toke a step back frightened by what I was seeing. On the bed the child creature stirred as I it could sence it's own danger. Slowly but shurly in great gasping wiles it began to cry. The child's cry was so loud I couldn't tell another person had stepped into the room."Sara" said a sickly voice that echo across. I turned to see Zoey, still shocked to see what has happened to her.It had only been three days since I had seen her face but so much had changed. Her once dark black hair is now a blurry grey, dark haft moon circles under her eyes and her skin was deathly thin. She looked exosted no she looked...sick. "Zoey" I said, my eyes widening. "Sara don't worry I'm fine" she as if she knew what I was going to say. Her attention turned to the crying child in her bed. I didn't move as she passed me. "Shh my child" she said as she cradled the crying child. Still confused I walked up to her until the child's lime green eyes opened. Her eyes were like a wolf's eyes studying its prey. "Pleases Sara don't tell mom she'll flip" she said on the edge of tears. I didn't know what say, Zoey was on a dark path already and keeping this...THING could only make that path darker but no matter what my head said my heart isn't made of stone. " Fine I won't tell mom but tomorrow I want an explanation" I said, my voice breaking here and there. Her face lit up and she nodded. I turn around to leave while opening the door. I walk out of her bed room with the door closing behind me. I hope I didn't just make a very big mistake.
