You went to the doctors. Your teeth had been hurting for some time now,  but you thought the problem would solve itself,  the way it always did.  But it didn't,  even after a few weeks and you finally made an appointment.  They checked it,  yet at first they couldn't define what it was.  Could be everything.  Could be a piece of bone that broke off,  or a piece of a tooth.  So they took some of the material of the swelling and sent it to some laboratory.
And now you have to wait.

They call you a few weeks later,  you almost forgot about the incident and just accepted that little pain in your mouth.  They ask you to come into the clinic again since they want to decide what to do now. But even with that knowledge,  your mind is still at ease.
They tell you that they've got good news and bad news.
The good news are,  they know what it is.

And suddenly everything makes sense.  The way they look at you,  the way everyone in the clinic has been looking at you. How the other visitors and sick people had been looking at you,  knowing that you'd be one of them soon.  The way people on the street had been looking at you.  Everybody knew,  except for you.  And yet,  your mind is still at ease,  because you did know.  Your brain was always a tad too close to the thought of having cancer.  You knew.  But you didn't want to.
You didn't want to.
