Nero, Brawn, Aurora, Tiger and Levi had left for the hunting patrol. They had already caught two hares and on the tail of a while-tailed deer.
"Maybe we should leave it be.." Whispered Tiger as she eyed the deer. "It has a family.."
Two small fawns followed by the mothers side. There was no sign of the father. The mother would still be protective but more easier to take down.
"No way are we leaving prey to live" Muttered Nero as he looked one more time for the father
"Nero, Aurora. You take the fawns. Herd them up then kill em'"
"I and brawn will take the mother" he looked at the patrol and they nodded. "Tiger.. you can guard the prey"
Tiger sighed, "Yep.." She sat down and placed the hares under her paws. She looked around in a protective mode to the prey. Her eyes were narrowed as she marched back-and-forth around the hares.
Levi watched the deer, "Me and Brawn chase the mother first, then attack the fawns" They all nodded. "GO!" Levi and Brawn shot out from the bush and alarmed the mother. The Doe shot back in alarm and fell on her back. She skittered up and yelped in surprise.
Nero and Aurora darted after the two fawns. The smallest of the fawns turned around and did a small yelp. It was obviously trying to protect his older brother but.. failing miserably in the process.
Levi chased the Doe in Zig-Zags throughout the trees. There was no sigh of Brawn around. Levi tried to knock the Doe of it's balance by battling at it's hoofs. Chasing the Doe in and out of the trees had led it to confusion. A large grey blur knocked the Doe of it's hoofs. Brawn had taken hold of the run-away Doe. He had pierced it's side harshly leaving bites through its flesh. Levi gripped it neck and tossed and tackled the prey to the ground. Leaving the doe in it's last breathe, the mother died slowly. Levi and Brawn exchanged looks before howling.
Aurora tossed the larger fawn to the floor, It was so wait-less compared to the wolf. She gripped its back leg and dragged it across the floor. It tried to struggle away but it had no chance. Aurora bit it's neck with no hesitation to stop. A true wolf had no sympathy for it's prey. Nero otherwise was chasing the speedy Fawn throughout the trees. Aurora gripped the Fawn and picked it up, she returned it to Tiger. Levi and Brawn Returned a few minutes later with the Doe. Nero on the other hand returned empty pawed.
"It was too fast," he heavily breathed and then sighed, "It'll die without family"
"Let's leave before the Buck returns" Brawn suggested. They all received looks, "Agreed!" they all shouted.
Tiger scowled as Levi, "Don't think i won't tell Cavern that you refused to let me hunt"
"He won't be much surprised, It was his words" Levi smirked
