Chapter two
Ramona POV
I continue to serve the incredibly rude and selfish customers but am startled by a oddly angelic singing in the background. And I whisper to Erika after I give a table their order. “Do you hear that?” and she squints at the stage to decipher the people responsible for the music.
"Woah, they’re good." She lowers her voice "They look homeless though." she giggles almost silently. I laugh and continue my job, taking enjoyment from the music in the background.
"Shit!" I heard one of the two men yelp. I gasp and jump, causing the tray I’m holding to slip from my fingers and my attention is instantly drawn towards the stage. I instinctively run over to the man that has just fallen from the karaoke stage.
"S-Sir, are you okay?" I say, kneeling beside him. "Y-Yeah." he groans while grabbing his knee, wearing a pained expression on his face.
"No I don’t think you are." I say, biting my lip in sympathy.
"Really, I’m okay." he says, attempting to get back on his feet but miserably fails, causing me to support him by supporting my arms under his shoulder blades. "Please, let me help you." I say softly, trying to sound convincing.
"B-But." he says with a sigh but nods his head in defeat.
"Okay." I say, trying to support him as he winces and the other man with him comes and helps me.
"We’re not from around here, could you help us to get him help?" the man said, in an obviously faked American accent.
"Yeah." I agree, nodding my head. "Erika!" I call in a rush as I feel the young man cringe with pain. "Yeah?" she says, meanwhile picking up the mess I made.
"Tell Liz I have an emergency." I reply to her confused expression, hoping my boss Liz will understand. I don’t even take the time to wait for Erika’s response before me and the stranger carry the injured man out to their surprisingly luxurious black escalade.
"Miss, you can stay in the back with Niall. I’ll drive and you can tell me where to go, okay?" The nameless man suggested in a true British accent. All I can really do is give a pathetic nod and help, Niall I guess, into the back of the vehicle. I know that I just met these people, and they do seem a little sketchy but what am I supposed to do, leave poor Niall here in pain? "What’s your name ma’am?" The man who still hasn’t introduced himself asks me after we get situated in the car.
"Um, Ramona." I say biting my lip. And looking at a sweating Niall.
"Hi Ramona, I’m Louis and Niall here has a bad knee so he needs to see a physician." Louis informs me. "Yes of course. Just pull out of here and take a left." I first instruct Louis before my attention turns to Niall. "Niall, I’m training to be a Physical Therapist, can you please tell me the level of pain your in on a scale from one to ten?" I say in a comforting tone.
"About seven, eight?" he says with a long breath. "Okay, here." I pull a cool water bottle I see up front and hand it to Niall. "Put this where it hurts, it won’t help a whole lot with the pain but it will with swelling." I say with a sympathetic smile.
"Thank you." he says giving me a weak smile, applying the cold to his knee.
"Alright, what next love?" Louis says, taking his straw hat off, revealing an oddly familiar appearance.
"Just continue down this avenue and take a left turn, you’ll see a hospital not far from there." I say with a small smile. I look at Niall as he takes off his hat and sunglasses when we reach the hospital.
Shit.
Shit.
Shit.
I am sitting in the fucking car with two members of One Direction. Shit. I can seriously feel my the color drain from my face. “Um you okay love?” Louis comments when he peaks in the review mirror and sees my pallor expression.
