; prologue

Niall set out his first aid kit on the table. He let out a sigh as he dumbed out everything, knowing he would need it. He turned around to see two older people sitting in the chairs there. "Karen, Geoff, you realize just how close of a call this was, right?" He asked, taking in their beaten appearance.

Geoff sighed, wiping the blood from his face. "Yeah, we know, son." He answered. "It was necessary though.

"But it was still a close call. And if you want to berate us for being hypocritical God-parents, then go ahead." Karen added.

"I'm not gonna do that," Niall stated, bringing over a warm wet cloth to the older woman. "Here." Karen smiled at the blonde as she took the rag. Geoff looked over at her as Niall turned around and walked back to the table. She nodded at her husband.

"Niall, we need to ask you an important favor." Geoff began.

"Yeah?" Niall asked. He would do anything for these too. They helped him when he was a new hunter and still navigating the supernatural world.

"This last case...it really got us thinking. We could be gone at any moment with the jobs we have."

Niall turned around. "Okay, like I get that what you're saying is true, but do we really have to talk like you guys are going to die soon?" He asked. He didn't want to hear it. They were the only family the Irish man had.

Karen shook her head. "You know as well as we do Niall that we're walking on a fine line. Our favor is for you to keep something of ours." She pointed to her bag and Niall walked over to it, bringing it to her. "You remember, Liam right? We've told you about him." The blonde nodded. "We'll in case we die before we retire, he's going to have questions. He'll be confused and lost and well, he's your age. We were wondering if that ever happens, if you'll give him this."

Karen pulled a leather notebook from her bag and handed it to Niall. He took it, before looking back up at her. "Okay, but you guys aren't going to just die on me." He said, voice a bit firm.

Geoff chuckled. "We're going to try our best not to. But we just need to know that someone will be there for our son in case anything does happen. We trust you with our lives. We may not win parents of the year but we love our son. We need to know he's in good hands. Yours."

Niall clutched the notebook and let out a deep breath. "Okay, I will keep it and I promise I'll keep an eye on Liam if anything is to happen to you." He stated, walking back to the table and setting the book down. Then he picked up the supplies he needed. "But I'm gonna patch you guys up and we're not gonna worry about dying right now, okay?"

Karen chuckled softly. "Got it," She said. She gave Niall a fond smile. "Thank you, Niall."

Niall returned the smile. "Anything for my hunter parents."

Whoo! Welcome to my One Direction/Supernatural cross over! Just so you guys know. I'm pretty much past the point of really caring what people think about with how many stories I have. I'm not starting this one until March, after I'm done with Little Things and Fight for You.

So if anyone knows me they know that Supernatural is my favorite show and I've been watching it for 12 years now. That's like a little under half my age. Anyway so I came up with an idea and niallersgirl139 helped me with the plot. In a way I'm writing this story with her, well with her help. Hope you guys are excited for this.

I know I had just asked what I should update. But now I just feel compelled to update Little Things until I get pretty far with it. And then Fight for You afterwards. Anyway uh tell me what you think? If you have any ideas for Little Things and Fight for You feel free to share! Love you all ❤
