My heart pumped hard, hearing it pump in my chest, my lungs dying for air because of how fast we were running.
"Shit!" Dallas whispered under his breath as the officer climbed out of his car, looking at us. He came closer and examined us better, then opening up our bags. My heart was pumping even more, literally beating out of my chest, once he checked mine and the rest.
"If you answer my question honestly, then y'all won't get much in trouble than if you lied to me." The officer said, walking infront of all of us, putting his hands on his hips.
Everyone all looked at me, knowing I would be the only one who could tell the truth honestly. I rolled my eyes and began talking.
"Sir, I'm sorry but we were all joining
Mischief night, you know, the day before Halloween.." I started off, while playing with my fingers. The officer kept his eyes on me, making me break a sweat."And what were y'all doing while joining this Mischief night?" He asked. I sighed, I tried to explain, but no words came out, like there was a frog in my throat, since I was so frightened by him. He raised a brow, wondering if I would continue, as the boys tried to hold in their laughs, since I was so scared to talk.
"...We were all wrecking people's houses by egging it,throwing balloons filled with paint at it, etc..." I said ashamed of myself.
The officer sighed, picking up at his walkie-talkie and saying police stuff, like code 7 or something. After he was done, he got hand cuffs for all of us and began cuffing, one by one.
I was the last one to be cuffed, and also the last to get into the big police car, that fit all of us. I looked out the window, terrified.
What will happen? What will they do with us? Is this going to ruin my future? How is this going to ruin my future? And so on I thought.
The car stopped and everyone slowly got out, then walking into the police station building. We all sat down, dead silent, all we could hear was the wind outside blowing leaves away.
"It's going to be alright." Thomas whispered to all of us, but actually meant to say to me. I shook my head, doubting it.
"No we're not, we did something bad, of course we would get at least a consequence!" I said, loud enough for all of them to hear yet quiet enough so that they would be the only ones to hear.
Dallas sat next to me, trying to comfort me, with his hand cuffs still on. I put my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes, hoping this would all go away fast.
---
"Audrey wake up!" Dallas said shaking me, as I immediately opened my eyes. We were all still at the police station, everyone had no more hand cuffs on, and were all on their phones, except for Dallas.
"How long was I sleeping?" I asked Dallas as he scooted closer to me.
"About an hour and a half." I nodded my head and laid down, spreading my body across the couch that Dallas and I were on. I played with Dallas' surfer wrist bracelet as he played with my hair.
Gosh I love it when people play with my hair.
As we laid there for about 25 minutes, I could feel Thomas' eyes gleam at us, here and there, then looking away quickly, and repeated doing that.
