Chapter 2

I sat in the dark corner of Aden's Peugeot, underneath the passenger seat, hidden from the other pigs on the kerb. Yes, that pig that sat next to me was Aden. I told him to stay away from me... though he promised not to hurt me. It's just that I can't seem to trust the guy. He seemed all... suspicious. Most of all, HE'S A PIG! No racism intended but, HE'S A FRIGGIN PIG! Which bird would want to stay next to a pig?

Life as a bird is never perfect while the pigs... they have the luxury to do anything and everything they want. If you lived near or even in Pig City, you would understand their advantage. I don't get it. Why do pigs have luxury and still want eggs? Why was the codebase so... evil?

I looked up at the shining streetlights that passed as the sedan drove on. Night in Pig City is redefined - it's when it's bright and colourful. Why didn't we Angry Birds have such class of comfort? Just as I thought that, the car went into a grinding stop. I flew across the car's floor, hitting the front panel.

I jumped up onto the passenger seat and bit the driver's ear. Aden shook his head, crying out in pain. I flew onto the window because of his... movement. I slid, from the window, onto the seat, and looked at Aden, angrily but drowsily.

"Why the pig did you do that?" I mumbled, just to flop onto the floor, unconscious.

I woke up in a stark white place, where there was only a mirror. I approached it with caution, to see myself, a pink bird.

I fell to the ground, crying. Why? Why, of all of the creatures, did I have to be the a bird? The one who gets bashed and stolen from! Why was I bird? Why not a pig? Why did I run away? Why am I so... stupid?

"Stella! STELLA!"

I woke up, with tears on my eyes. Aden was beside me, holding onto me. The pig was wearing a rather worried look. He wiped a tear running through my cheek.

"Are you alright? You were crying in your sleep."

I pulled him nearer to me and hugged him tightly.

"Why? Why do I have to be an ugly bird? Why do I resist the input and code? Why am I stupid?"

I was just sobbing too much to say the rest. I just sniffled and sobbed.

"Look, you're not ugly and you're not stupid. You're very smart, being a bird that knows things that a bird usually know and... well. Well, you're not ugly... I cannot say that to you. It would be a lie."

"There is no truth to trust."

"Stella... I wanted to say something..."

I froze and pushed away from Aden. He was surprised when I did that.

"Aden... nothing has changed," I stammered, struggling to hide my desire. "Don't go near me."

I pulled on my seatbelt, and looked out of the window in order to ignore Aden. I saw the beautiful skyline of Pig City - the high end skyscrapers, the shining suburban houses, the mountains and... the sea. I never saw a bit of the sea simply because Red forbid it. Terrence simply stopped me whenever I tried to.

I looked back at Aden with shock.

"What? Did you see some eggs in the palace? Sheesh..."

"Is that why you stopped?" I asked.

"You'd never care about the answer, even if I tell you."

I sighed and turned to the window, just to see a barbaric hog literally leaning his face on the window glass.

I screamed, scared to the bone. Aden (definitely) noticed. He dug onto the pedal, and the car drove. But still, the hog followed.

It was getting onto the back window. Something was needed to be done. Then I noticed an abandoned slingshot across the road.

"Drop me off."
