The thick red color blended onto the canvas; the deep strokes, melding and moving to create an image that she had seen before. The rich green and brown colors that composed the background were striking against the lone red and brown figure that stood proud in the center. The wolf, with its head upturned as it howled to a non-existent moon, demanded attention. The rich ruddy red color paired with the deep mocha brown on its fur was just as she had always pictured it; the colors creating the image of the wolf that she constantly saw in her mind.

Leah was concentrated on the painting before her. As her hair fell into her face, and the pungent smell of acrylic paint filled the room, nothing was going to break her concentration. She had been painting the wolf for the past five hours, the sun setting long ago. The moon was up, and she was unsure of what time it was, but she did not really care. As she stepped back to observe the image that she had been working on for months, a proud smile arose on her face. The wolf and forest scene looked like a twin image for the picture that hung above her bed. With a soft smile playing on her pink lips, Leah approached the canvas with her brush mid-air, ready to make the final stroke.

However, her concentration was ruined by a light thud.

Whipping her head around, Leah let out an annoyed sigh. The light tap sounded again, and she knew what that meant. Walking over to the window in her room where the sound was coming from, Leah pulled aside the curtains and slid the glass pane up. Looking down, Leah was greeted by the sight of three smiling russet skinned boys.

"Do you know what time it is?"

"Do you?"

Leah rolled her eyes at Jacob's statement, for he knew that the young girl had spent her afternoon painting and ignoring his many attempts to get her out of her room. With a light roll of her eyes, Leah simply shrugged her shoulders, like Jacob knew she would. His white smile could be seen from her position slightly above the trio, as he began to motion for her to come down.

"Where are you planning on making me go," Leah questioned as she leaned against the window sill with a slight smile on her lips.

Jacob's white smile broadened as he replied with a simple statement that left Leah wanting more: "On an adventure."

Leah simply nodded her head and held up a finger, signaling the boys to give her a moment, before walking away from the window. Already wearing a loose white t-shirt and jeans, Leah simply put on a red flannel and her converse before approaching the window.

Leah's room was not on a second story, though some days she felt like it was as she jumped out from her little window. While she didn't live in a two story home, the Marson household was built elevated. Her little room was on the main floor, but -unlike most houses- their first floor was still about six feet off of the ground. Whoever had designed the infrastructure thought that it would be a good idea to build a massive front patio that was elevated, so that the La Push beach could be seen from the house. However, the designer did not consider the fact that the rest of the house would be slightly awkward looking as there was about four feet of crawlspace that was covered only by a thin sheeting of wood.

Looking down over the awkward ledge, Leah threw her right leg over the window seal. As she straddled the wood, she took one last deep breath to relax herself before shouting down at her boys.

"Watch out, below!"

With the words echoing through the night, Leah swung her other leg over the window before pushing herself from the little wooden ledge. The boys all watched with grins on their faces as Leah landed in a crouching position before them. As Leah gracefully stood up from her position, she flipped her hair back away from her face and let her excited eyes meet that of her friends. As she did so, a low whistle filled the night.
