Chp. 16

This can't be happening. I turn back and see that Lexie has gone off. Great.

"Hi.." Josh says look me straight in the eye.

"Hi." I say back but it's barely a whisper.

"Uhm happy belated birthday."

"Thanks. Look I gotta find Lexie." I start to turn away but he grabs my waist pulling me back.

"I got you something." He looked down at my hand and noticed I had the promise ring on. His mouth gaps open at the sight.

"I've worn it everyday since the break up." I say to him because it's the truth.

I wore it because I knew one day we could go back to how we were before. Well I hoped we would. I still do. Now looking at him I've realized how much I really missed him and that I really never wanted to leave.

He suddenly grabs my waist and pulls me in for a hug.

"God I've missed you so much." He says in my ear.

"I've missed you too." I say holding on tighter not wanting to let go but he does pulling out a long rectangular box.

"For you." He pulls out an open heart necklace that's absolutely breathtaking.

"Josh. Can you put it on?"

"Of course." He takes the necklace in his hands as I pull my hair up so it doesn't get tangled with it.

I look down at the necklace. It was really beautiful. I turn back to him and smile. That's when my phone vibrated with a text from Lexie.

"Your lockscreen is still us?" Josh laughs. Shit. "It's okay." He takes out his phone and his lockscreen  still is too and I smile.

*So I found Justin at the mall. Go home with him;)-Lexie*

"She's with Justin." I giggle.

"I know." He smiles and grabs my hand as we drive back to his place.

"I missed coming here." I say as I set my stuff down.

"I missed you being here." Josh smiles not it disappears, "I have to tell you why I did what I did."

While he was explaining I was in total shock. How could his parents do that to him? It breaks my heart knowing that he was forced to end our relationship. Absolutely gutted.

"Sam you have to know that I had no intention on leaving you. I couldn't leave you. Sam I love you and I always will." He says tears coming out of his eyes.

"I know." I say taking off the ring on my finger showing him the engraving. "I know."

Finally we both leaned in to kiss and I longed for it.

"You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that." He says between breathes.

The kids felt like it lasted forever but Josh broke it off.

"Move back in." He looked me straight in the eye.

I smiled and nodded yes.
