Confidence, i kept telling myself that. "Hi," i said with my voice shaking. They didn't look like they noticed. "Hello?" i said calmer this time. I tapped their shoulder. Surprised, they look over like they were shocked. "Hello?" i said again. It looked like they knew what was happening. They pointed to their ears and then used sign language to explain that they couldn't hear. Now I'm glad i decided to learn sign language in 3rd grade. I didn't know it that well, but i knew i could try. Using sign language i told her that i just moved here and didn't really have any friends at this school. We talked through sign language for a minute or two and then she gave me her phone number, so it would be easier to talk. Even though she couldn't hear, she could talk, at least a little, but i would have to reply through text or SL (sign language). It occurred to me that we had the same homeroom teacher, as well as our schedule. I figured i could translate everything for her because there was no sign language classes here, so no one knew it.
