So much for love

Chapter 1-

I was sitting on my hammock in the hot summer heat of Alabama when my phone started going off like crazy. No doubt in my mind it was my best friend Rachel. And of course it was her I looked at the message it said "hey I'm going to the lake with all the guys and I heard there's a new guy in town!" I frowned it was just like her to set me up with someone. I looked at my watch and asked what time she sent a message saying "that's my girl in 15 I'll come pick you up". I ran up stairs this was my last chance at love before going back to high school for senior year.

I opened the old wood door to my room and made a bee-line for the closet. I threw the doors open and stared at my bathing suit drawer I took my black bickini and threw that on with great speed and grabbed a pair of white shorts and had just finished putting them on when Rachel honked outside. I flew down the stairs and just grabbed my bag before getting in her car. She squealed with delight that I was going with her.She drove to the lake which was 5 minutes away and had the radio blasting the whole way. I got out and slowly walked toward the lake as Rach sprinted ahead of me. I laughed as she surprised her boyfriend Scott by hugging him tightly from behind. They made such a cute couple it was especially funny when she started to talk very animatedly and he just nodded his head and he had no idea what she was saying.

I walked down and gave Scott, Tom, and Sean all high fives and stood next to Rach awkwardly. Tom took me over to the other guys and I said hi to all of them except one who I didn't know. Tom introduced us and said "Kris, this is Sam" I smiled and shook hands with him and he smiled back looking at me from my strawberry blonde hair to my perfectly tanned and toned calves. He said " hi " then Tom had to ruin the moment and say " yea she's a total jock" I just glared at him and he smiled wickedly in return. Then Sam just smiled and said what do you play? " and I said " baseball" just talking about the sport left a huge smile on my face. I had a feeling Sam and I were going to get along well.

Later on, I was staring at the sunset in the back of Sean's truck with Sam after a long day of baseball swimming and staring at the sky. We sat right next to each other and the fact that he was a red sox fan made me like him even more and he played a lot of sports and we could carry a conversation about cars for hours. I was absolutely in love and he seemed to be too. By the end of the night we were walking to his car and giggling hysterically. I hoped this summer, this new found love of mine would never go away I was going to stay with it until the end.
