Surprise In The Forest

The next day came around quickly and Zoe was getting ready to leave the house and take care of the horses on her own. Suddenly there was a knock on the door. She opened the door to see Zach standing in the cold.

"Zach!" Zoe screamed hugging him. Zach smiled and hugged her back. "What happened" she asked stepping back.

"I don't know, I just remember blacking out. Then I woke up in this whole office area with the prince standing above me. The prince took care of me and stuff then he sent me home" Zach replied. Zoe was shocked.

"The prince!" She gasped in jealousy. "You lucky man he is so hot!" Zoe laughed gentl punching Zach's shoulder.

"Are you heading off to the stables?" Zach asked and Zoe nodded. They headed over there but when they started working Zach didn't look the same.

"Are you alright?" Asked Zoe as Zach groomed one of the horses.

"I'm fine" Zach replied. Zach was lying; he couldn't get the thought of the prince out of his head! Those wonderful eyes, His beautiful wavy hair and his one of a kind smile, the prince was so perfect.

"I guess you're still shocked from yesterday" said Zoe. Zach nodded. Zach finished grooming the horse and decided to take break. He went to his black stallions stable and got his horse out. He put a saddle onto the horse and jumped onto him. "You ready Storm" He said to the horse. Storm lifted his foot up and put it back down as a symbol of yes. Just as Zach was about to set off he heard Zoe.

"Where do you think you're going" She said folding her arms. Zach rolled his eyes.

"Nowhere special" He muttered, Zoe looked at him unconvinced.

"Let me get Carrie out then" She said getting her brown warmblood horse out.

"No!" Zach shouted "I want some time to myself" Zoe looked at him offended. The truth is Zach wanted to relax and get the thought of that perfect prince out of his head. Zoe gave in and carried on looking after the horses.

Zach rode around the kingdom before coming to the gates. Two guards stood there and looked up at him.

"Who are you" Shouted one of the guards.

"Zach, I'm one of the stable boys" Zach replied.

"Why do you need to leave the kingdom" Shouted the other one.

"I am giving my horse exercise" Zach replied with a smile on his face. The guards opened the gate and Zach went through. He used the same reason every time he went out of the kingdom.

But instead of going straight ahead he turned left to somewhere he isn't allowed to go; the forbidden forest. As Zach went into the forest leaves brushed against his head and sunlight shone through the rare gaps in the trees. Soon he found the clearing he always went too. Zach jumped off storm and took the saddle off him. The clearing had the finest grass that Storm loved to snack on. Zach lay down and started to relax.

A few minutes later they heard violent rustling in the trees. The rustling was coming closer and closer to Zach and Storm. Zach quickly got up and hid behind a tree to see who it was. Storm leapt up in the air and started running to Zach. Soon the rustling stopped and a figure on a horse emerged into the clearing.

Zach was shocked to see the prince on his horse. The prince jumped off his horse and took the saddle off him just like Zach did. Soon their eyes made contact and the Prince looked scared.

"Don't worry I was just as scared when you came galloping over here" Said Zach bravely moving forwards with Storm behind him. The prince and Zach both moved forward to the clearing with both their horses behind them. "What are you doing here" asked Zach.

"I come here when I'm angry or sad" Replied Alex the prince. "What are you doing here" Alex asked.

"I came here to get some thoughts off my head" Replied Zach.

"You're the stable boy aren't you" Alex said starting to smile. Zach nodded. "I never got your name".

"Zach" Zach mumbled while starting to blush. Alex' smile started to become bigger.

"I didn't know anyone else came here" Said Alex slowly sitting down in the middle of the clearing.

"I didn't know anyone else came here either, most people are too scared" Replied Zach, Still standing. Alex smiled and patted his hand on the patch of grass next to him, signaling for Zach to sit next to him.

Zach slowly sat down next to the prince, He couldn't believe it! He came to get the prince off his mind and now he is sitting next to him.

"It's because of that stupid monster story, I wonder why people even believe it" Said Alex.

"I remember when I wondered in here for the first time" Zach said, starting to lie down.

"How old where you" Asked Alex curiously while starting to lie down as well.

"About 4, my parents were taking me on a horse ride when we stopped to feed the horses, my parents were busy with the horses so they didn't realize that I was wondering into the forest" Zach said turning his head to look at Alex.

"Wow you were pretty young" Laughed Alex, turning his head to look at Zach. They looked into each other's eyes. Zach blushed hard while Alex' face stayed the same. Zach went so red he quickly turned his face back up to the sky.

"So what's it like living in a castle" Said Zach, Trying to avoid it being awkward.

Alex told him about the castle until they were in a full-on conversation. They carried on talking till it became dark.

"Wow it's so late" Shouted Alex in shock. They both quickly got up and mounted onto their horses. They both set off to the kingdom gates while galloping side by side.

They soon got to the gates but where shocked to see tones of guards standing there.

"Prince" Cried one of the guards. Soon all of them rushed over to him.

"Where have you been?"

"Are you alright?"

"Did someone hurt you?"

Questions where being thrown at him till there attention suddenly turned to Zach.

"He kidnapped you and threatened you didn't he" Shouted one of the guards.

"No!" laughed the prince. "Just let us in". Zach looked at Alex and smiled as they galloped in together. They both went to the stables and Zach got off his horse. As he put Storm away he heard Alex.

"Is it alright if I stop by some time" Alex asked, Zach smiled and nodded. "Don't tell anyone we hung out as well" Alex whispered smiling back. Alex soon whipped his horse and galloped away. "Bye" he shouted as he quickly rode back to the castle.

Zach walked back to his old farm house and yawned. There he found Zoe walking around in the kitchen worried.

"Are you ok Zoe?" asked Zach confused. Zoe quickly turned her head to him and immediately leapt on him and hugged him.

"Where have you been" She cried while squeezing Zack.

"Just out" Zach squealed not being able to breathe.

"Just out for a whole day you mean" She shouted.

"Not a day" Zach laughed.

"Well it felt like eternity" Zoe cried while wiping her tears away. She soon let go and they both hopped into their beds.

Zach still didn't believe what had happened today was real.
