Chapter 8 - Mingyu's Confession

They stop walking as there’s something blocking their way.

“K-Kim Mingyu,” Sujeong didn’t expecting that she will meet Mingyu there.

“I’ll go now,” JIN said. “Have a nice date,”

JIN then walk away. Sujeong and Mingyu exchange glances for a sew second before Sujeong broke the silent.

“Congratulation for your comeback,” Sujeong said. “And welcome back to Korea,”

Sujeong want to walk away but Mingyu hold her hand. Didn’t let her go.

“Let me go, Kim Mingyu. I need to go practice,” Sujeong said.

“Oh. I haven’t congratulate you for your 1st concert,” Mingyu said. “Congratulation. I wish you the best and will end it successfully,”

“Thank you for the wish,” Sujeong said. “Now, let me go,”

“Ryu Sujeong. We haven’t meet each other for years,” Mingyu said. Sujeong look at Mingyu disbelieve.

“Years my ass. It’s just a few weeks, stupid,” Sujeong said.

“Ryu Sujeong. You’re so mean. How dare you calling me stupid after weeks we didn’t meet each other,” Mingyu said.

“You deserve it,” Sujeong said. “Now let me go. I’m busy,”

“Oh. You have time to meet Jungkook but suddenly busy when I appears,” Mingyu said.

“Wait?! How do you-” Sujeong is wondering. How Mingyu know that she’s meeting Jungkook before. Unless- “You’re stalking me?’

“I’m not!” Mingyu said.

“Really?” Sujeong asked. “I just meet him for a while,”

“And you don’t want to meet me?” Mingyu said.

“We can meet at other time. I’m busy now,” Sujeong said.

“What’s wrong with you, Ryu Sujeong?” Mingyu asked.

“What’s wrong? Nothing. I’m just fine,” Sujeong said.

“And why did you met Jungkook just now? And why you didn’t tell me anything about it?” Mingyu asked.

“Why should I tell you about it?” Sujeong asked.

“Because you’re my girlfriend,” Mingyu said.

“Huh. You just admit about it now?” Sujeong asked. She look at her hand that Mingyu still hold it. “And let go of my hand, please?”

“Ryu Sujeong,” Mingyu said.

“What? Kim Mingyu?” Sujeong asked.

“What do you want? Chocolate? Flowers?” Mingyu asked.

“Just give the flowers to Eunha instead,” Sujeong said. “And now, let go of my hand,”

“Wait! Are you by chance- jealous?” Mingyu asked.

“N-No! Why should I? It’s your work, right? I can’t do anything,” Sujeong said. Mingyu show his smiley face. “What with that smile?”

“My bread cheeks is being jealous,” Mingyu said.

“I’ve told you. I’m not,” Sujeong said. Mingyu hold both of Sujeong’s hand.

“♪ Even if we can’t meet each other because something happens ♪,” Mingyu sings.

“Mwoya? You’re trying to show off now? That your singing skill is improving?” Sujeong said. She’s trying to escape from Mingyu’s grip. But suddenly Mingyu pull her into his embrace. Mingyu patting Sujeong’s back gently.

“♪ Lean on me, lean, lean. Lean on me, lean, lean. Lean on me, lean, lean. Lean on me ♪,” Mingyu continue his singing.

Sujeong froze in Mingyu’s arms at first. But then, she slowly move her hands and hug Mingyu back. Her head is on Mingyu’s left chest. She heard it. The beating of his heart. It make her calm.

“♪ I’ll be there, I will always be in your heart. When we’re both having hard time, let’s be together more, my girl ♪,” Mingyu sings again.

“Stop it. I don’t want to hear you singing for now,” Sujeong said. She hugs him even tighter.

“Why? Isn’t my voice is beautiful?” Mingyu asked.

“Jungkook’s voice is more beautiful,” Sujeong said. “But I wonder why I keep missing to hear your not so beautiful voice everyday?”

Mingyu just smile. At lease, he know that there’s a special place for him in Sujeong’s heart.
