The man came down with a brown bag in his hand. It smelled delicious. He handed it to me and I quickly tore open the bag and devoured the burger and fries, washing it down with a cold rootbeer. That was the  closest I had felt to being human since I got here.

"What are you going to do with me?" I asked, swallowing hard I was sitting on a bed in the basement. Chains and blood stains were everywhere.

The man sat next to me and the bed sunk in. His body felt warm next to mine. I sucked in a sharp breath.

"I don't know," he blurted out, a soft sigh escaping through his mask.

"Why are you keeping me here?" I asked, wanting to cry. I turned to look at him and he was already staring at me.

"I don't want to be alone," he whispered. I raised my hand and slowly reached over, dragging my fingers softly against the hard leather of his mask. I knew it wasn't leather. I knew it was made from something else. Something bad.

He didn't pull away so I scooped my fingers under the mask and slowly slid it up his face until it came completely off.

I gasped and he turned away, almost angry.

"Wait," I stopped him and he turned to look at me. I was entirely surprised that he was actually handsome. Deep scars ran along his face like valleys in a map. But behind that was a something that looked good, not evil.

I didn't know what to feel or what to say. This man kidnapped me but wasn't going to kill me because he was lonely. And I could't help but find him attractive. I wanted to cry. This was so fucked up.

I wished I never crashed my car along the highway. I never would have ended up here.
