UNEDITED

"I don't get it Red. Why do you always find yourself in the woods when you know it's suicidal?" My sister asks as she runs her hands through her hair in frustration.

I just sat there and said nothing as I watched her get even more frustrated at me for going back into the woods. I couldn't help but roll my eyes though. I mean if it was suicidal than why wasn't I dead yet? I've went into the forest plenty of times and I'm in perfect health. I can't help but stray from the path at times. The trees, the flowers, the earth; they call to me.

"You know mom will kill you if she finds out right?" She said after she saw I wasn't going to respond.

I shook my head and laughed at the thought of my mother finding out that I had went into the woods. . . again.

"She says that ever time and yet here I am perfectly healthy." I said standing up and twirling so she could see.

My sister just looked at me as if unable to process my state of mind.

"You're insane." She said looking me straight in the eye.

I nodded completely agreeing with her.

"You know what Bree? You're right I am insane and I'm perfectly fine with that too." I said starting to walk off towards the woods again.

My sister stood there in silence until I got to the very edge of the woods.

"I- I'm not coming after you. If you die it's you're fault. And I won't let mom to go looking for you either!" She yelled at me before I stepped into the forest.

I stopped and looked back at her in silence. I could see tears in her eyes and I knew going in the woods now would be fatal but I couldn't stop. I couldn't stop the pull of the forest; the rush it gave me. I was born in the woods and I would die in it. But I couldn't tell Bree that. She wouldn't understand it she wouldn't want to understand it. But someday I hope she'll feel the pull too. I nodded to her before slipping into the mask of the forest and breathing in my home.

I started walking in a path i had never went before. My mind was processing everything and my feet lead me in a random direction. I could see every detail in the tree's. Winter was coming soon and all the leaves were changing colors and falling  to the ground. The leaves crunched against my feet and left a trail behind me. Suddenly I found that I was in front of a cave and at first I didn't know how to describe it. It was something I had never seen before. The outside of the cave had beautiful carving on it telling stories hundreds of years old.

I wanted to read it but I couldn't make out the meaning of the words and pictures so I just settled for running my hand across the different patterns. I smiled before looking at the opening of the cave. White leaves covered the entrance to the cave and I couldn't help but hesitate before going into the cave. I didn't want to mess with the beauty of the cave. I took a deep breathe before pushing back the leaves back and walking into the cave. I gasped at the inside of the cave. Half of the cave was filled with furniture and it looked like a real home but the other half looked like it was meant for animals. I didn't know what to think of it so I decided to just admire the beauty of it all.

I stepped further into the cave and ran my hands against a big wooden chair. It seemed to be in very good condition but you could tell it was old. The type of wood wasn't from here or anywhere near here it didn't look like any of the wood I had ever seen before. I knew this told a story too. Everything in here seemed so old but you could tell it was something that would last forever. Everything in here told a story something I longed to understand but I knew I couldn't. I took in the smell of the cave and smiled. It smelled like fall and winter mixed together.
