Stelena: Before I Go.

*Elena's P.O.V.*

I gazed out the window with the same blank expression I wore yesterday. I slowly fell into depression as the truth set in. I am 18 years old. Just two days ago, I was diagnosed with Lucemia, one of the roughest forms of cancer. In a few short days, I will lose my hair. It begins to dawn on me that I might not win this battle.
My gaze was broken when I felt my phone vibrate in my hand.

I'll be over in a few minutes. I love you. Stay strong.

My eyes begin to tear up an I get the familiar lump in my throat as I think about the future Stefan and I will no longer have. I stare at the picture of us on my wall, thinking about the sweet memories that will always be a part of my heart.

"You are the woman that I love."

"I love you Stefan. Hold on to that. Never let that go."

"It's you and me Stefan always."

"You're staring." "I'm gazing." "It's creepy." "It's romantic."

"I love you so much."



My thoughts were interrupted when I heard a knock on the door. "Stefan!" I yell throwing myself at him. He wraps his arms around me and buries his face in my hair that will soon be gone.

"Stefan I missed you."
"Baby I missed you too. So much."
"Stefan what's gonna happen to me? To us?" I say, glancing at the ring on my left finger.
"You're gonna be okay. We're going to me alright. Everything is going to be fine," he said wiping my tears away with his thumbs. He placed is hands on the back of my neck and pulled my lips to his. I felt his tongue gently brush my bottom lip. I sure am going to miss this. I think to myself, fresh years forming in my eyes, threatening to escape.
"Hey baby, you're going to be fine okay? Come here." He pulled me in to his chest, rocking me back and forth.
"Love you more than you will ever know." He whispers into my hair, his lips pressing up against my head.
"I love you too." I choked out through sobs.
