"You're so hypnotizing" she sang in my ear as softly as possible. Trying her best not to sob out, I knew she was. The grotesque creatures screeched, and banged. On the walls of the tool shed we sat in. Having no other escape, and knowing it was our time. We sat in the cramped space, waiting for it to end. "Could you be the devil, could you be an angel" her words sounding so nostalgic. She had my head in her lap, my blood seeping to her white shirt. A large gash across my lower abdomen, and to my mid thigh. I smiled softly up at her mourning face. Salty tears flowed down her pale puffy cheeks. Her glistening stormy eyes on me. Fear, sadness, and pain, all settled in her orbs. Swirling around like a tornado in the dark sky. I felt something cold and metal, press against my chest. Where my slow beating heart was at.
She saved two bullets left for us, knowing we would die. She couldn't let some disgusting beasts eat at our flesh. Making us feel more pain than usual, so she decided we would end this way. "Your touch magnetizing, feel my body glowing. Feels like I'm exploding" her soft lilac voice began fading in my head. As she looked down on me, she didn't want us to go out like this. I just knew regret and pain was all she felt out for me. But me being the guy I am, even if I'm in complete pain. With blood pouring from me like a waterfall. I reached up to touch her soft cheek, stroking gently. The screams and moans outside were getting stronger. Meaning that more had come to get us, the wooden door. Began to splinter as a punch hit it, but not cracking. I weakly looked up to her, "Yuri" I spoke out in a gruff voice. It cracking from dried pain and the fear I had too.
She looked at me and sobbed quietly, feeling like she had to respond. "Dakota" she whimpered out to me. I loved the way her soft voice always spoke to me. She took the safety off of the silver pistol. Finger ready to fire off any second. The beast outside arms scratching the inside of the wall. Them getting in closely, was an understatement. "I love you so fucking much" she wailed out to me. The pain getting to her, even if I was the one hurt by it all. Her eyes closed tightly as I closed mine, ready to go. Before any other words were spoken. A loud bang surrounded us, I felt myself slowly slipping away. As my vision began to leave me, my body getting lighter at every second. I measly smiled to her, as my eyes began to droop. The last I saw and heard. Was her pressing the pistol to her head, tears streaming from her beautiful eyes. They shut tightly as she pulled the trigger, her last words was all I heard before leaving. The hell hole that now called earth for the rest of the survivors.
The words that I never wanted to hear from anything. The fire in her slowly dimming down to a mere spark. My eyes closed for the last time as darkness took over. The sounds of the beasts coming at our now dead bodies. Was what I knew to happen, as we both slipped away. Finally ready to leave, and go somewhere better from now on. Finally we were saved and away from the hell hole called life. But I'll never forget her last words to me. Never even if I tried to forget them, I couldn't.
"We can finally be released from this pain Dakota"
