It had been 10 minutes since Dave said he would reach my house. Just as I was about to get my phone out to ring him I saw his sliver ford racing down my drive. He quickly unfastened his seat belt ,before he even stopped and he had a guilty look plastered on his face. He ran up to me and started eagerly shaking me saying "sorry. I had to get the house ready quickly. It was a bit messy" he chuckled.

"It's fine. It's just a bit cold outside"

"Oh yeah. Sorry. Come inside.lets go" Dave was being so caring and a bit overly eager with everything and it was sweet that he was trying to impress me but just a bit weird.

As I slammed my door closed I looked at Dave who was already staring and said " so, why so happy all of a sudden, huh?"

He just looked at me and took a deep breath and calmed down.

"It's just that i want to make it up to you for not spending time with you and being a jerk. I want you to know that you are and always will be my best friend."

I smiled when actually the word "friend" kind of upset me. I was being friend zoned. And he claimed that I would only be his friend forever and I it hurt so bad that I couldn't tell him the truth. He had a girlfriend and the last thing I want to do is ruin his relationship aswell as mine. The rest of the journey I was quiet and from the corner of my eye I could see Dave repeatedly checking in my direction. He then fiddled around with the buttons in his car until mine and his favourite song came on. We used to sing along to it all the time when we were younger and our parents used to go crazy because we had it on repeat. It was ' your song ' by elton John and Dave knew that I couldn't resist singing it. I slowly began to smile and started to sing with Dave screaming the lyrics next to me making me laugh.

Soon we arrived at his relatively large house. He quickly scrambled out and ran to my side of the car to open the door. Before he could I shoved it open and it almost hit him in the face. "Stop trying to be such a gentleman" I laughed " just act like you used to".

He nodded before proceeding to the door.

"My mom and James (Dave's brother) aren't here. I think mom is staying over at her friends for a while so she won't be back till tomorrow. And James is probably off doing something weird as usual" he giggled and his adorable laugh always made my knees go weak. We both flopped onto the couch and he turned to face me.

"So, Millie, what do you wanna do?"

He had already grabbed the tv remote by then and turned it on.

"Well, I'm guessing that you want to watch tv. Why don't we just talk. I feel like we don't know each other anymore"

I didn't mean to go so deep with the last bit but that's how I felt to be honest. When he was around Molly he acted like such an idiot but now, he was being so sweet. I could tell that Dave was also a bit shocked with me making such a bold statement but he slowly nodded

The corners of his lips soon curled into a smile "let me go get something one second." Soon he disappeared into his kitchen and returned with a bottle of vodka and two cups.

"Let's play never have I ever and every time you have done something, you have to take a sip of vodka" he said this with a smirk knowing that I was a light weight.

"Fine" I said giving him a competitive glance.

"First person to finish two glasses loses, okay?" He asked

"Absolutely fine by me." I knew that I would win because Dave had always been much more daring than I was and I could think of a billion things already that I knew he would have done and I wouldn't.

He plopped himself down onto the beige sofa and clumsily poured two glasses of the drink, spilling some on the table.

"You start then.."

This was gonna be a long, drunk night...
